ONU just returned from it's trip to Germany and won the exhibition game 77-0 over a team of Bavarian All-Stars.  It was 35-0 at the end of 1 and 66-0 at the half.  The Bears had 4 INT returns for TD's along with a punt return and a blocked punt for TD.

It looks like a great trip and an incredible cultural experience for the team.

(JK, there's your answer.  When ONU students want culture, they go to Germany ;) )

Good for David!  This reeks of somebody looking to sue for money because he is a pro athlete.  David was probably set up for this very reason.   And so it goes......

Was Kaz coaching and going for two just before the half to make it 66-0? Or did he have his QB throw 10 TD passes, 7 to noe receiver?

I'll look into it but I don't think so.  Considering the offense only ran 11 total plays, I'm leaning towards "no".  But the team did spend a day touring Heidelberg according to the website and I think I read that there were some German students that knew how to throw a spiral, thus making them more talented and athletic than any Heidelberg student athlete of the last decade.

Man, I give David alot of credit. Having my young NFL career on the line, I would have been so nervous, I probably would have flunked the polygraph, innocent or not. Hope all continues to work out for him!

I think JCU shut out a Swiss club 49-0 called the Landquart Broncos on their trip to Europe.  It's a little hard to be sure since JCU has not updated their site and the Broncos' club site is Swiss.  From what I was able to piece together, this Swiss club hosted JCU (and I think UW Platteville) but it's been hard to figure out much more since the whole website is in Swiss and my German classes from high school and college are not helping me much in the translation.

Anyone have any more information?  What are the rules and regulations regarding cross-seas trips?

The NCAA permits member institutions to take trips to other countries once every three years, giving student-athletes experience outside of what would be a normal playing season. Teams are given extended time to practice for the trip in hopes that their experience will benefit the students-athletes, countries, and opposing teams, as well as further the exposure of the sport

If I were the new cheerleading coach at MUC, the first thing I would do is take the whole squad to a remote backwoods location where we could all get to know one another and bond. Just like in WE ARE THE TITANS.  It is not illegal unless you cross state lines. :o  I wonder if coaching cheerleaders involves breaking down lots of film like football? I could do that! Are  there in home recruiting visits for cheerleading? I wonder what the job pays? This position cant be too hard to fill. One of the benefits of this job is the annual trip to beautiful Va every year or so. Who wouldnt want this job?

Coming soon:

Geez Kirasdad....does this mean I should not have listed you as a reference?????

Oh well, I didnt really want the job anyways....would mean switching to the home side (AKA ...The morgue...)  NOT GONNA DO IT!  I just got caught up in the thought of being called Coach.  Its passed now.

Good Luck to whoever gets the position.  ;)  GO RAIDERS

Well, I can see that the Pick-Em poll at the top of the page isn't going settle anything  ;D

Guess that means the Whitewater offense will live up to their potential now!

Local boy staying in Alliance:

http://www.the-review.com/news/article/2099232

Two odd quotes from that article:

"We ran the same 4-3 front at Alliance as Mount Union does," noted Walker. "Coach (Alliance defensive coordinator Marty) Cvelbar and (Head coach Ron Kuceyeski) Kuz both coached at Mount Union in the past and that should help me."
I am sure Mount union ran a 4-2-5 scheme the past year or two.

"I started lifting this past Monday to get stronger to play at Mount Union," confided Walker. "I've run a 4.4 40-yard dash, but I need to get faster, if I want to play."
Kid should have been lifting since last December and I doubt a 6-3, 260 pound, DE ran a legitimate 4.4-40 and didn't get any DI scholarship attention...

He should have been lifted long before December if you ask me.  That's probably one of those 4.4 forty's we all hear about that was hand-timed and is more likely a 4.8-4.9 thanks to reaction time on the clock.

I don't wish anything bad on the kid.  Hopefully Mount gets another great talent.  Best of luck to him.

Wow
A 4.4  -  40 would be great from a guy that big.
You are correct he should be getting D1 looks, and the comment was he needed to get faster.

I think error in number 4.9 in the 40 and wants to get faster is reasonable.
I have son in that range and that is his comments.

I am sure he has been hitting the weights already just on the official school program now, is probably what he meant.

By the way great info on this conferences site.
Wish the MIAA had this type of depth of recruits info available.

Good luck to all hope we get a chance to meet in the playoffs. With a little different outcome, the MIAA has not faired to well lately in the playoffs.
