reality check

If the kid from West Jeff comes in and gets in the mix early he wouldn't be the first Roughrider to do so in the OAC early on in his collegiate career.  Former Polar Bear Brad Lohr hails from West Jeff and came in as a freshman at MLB and basically took over the position for his entire 4 years to end up 2nd on ONU's career tackle list.

Did they photocopy his deposit check at MUC and paperclip it to the roster?

If not it's still the rumor phase.

A few of you have said it, we really don't know who plays D3 football until they show up and pay.  That's a great way to explain the difference between D3 and other NCAA divisions.  Many people don't think about it or tend to forget.

I think the Salem communities secret weapon is the great food, and drinks, they provide."Did you get enough to eat?" "How's your drink?"  Southern hospitality.

Gordon Mann asked me for an explanation of the  sudden increase in the number of recruits coming from Florida, specifically the Sarasota area. I said I preferred to let K-dad and B4 explain it.

My secret quess is that since Larry doesn't get to go to Hawaii for the Hula Bowl anymore, he must be sneaking off to Florida after the Stagg Bowl 8) 8)

2007 North-South Classic Roster features:

26 Ryan Dugan DB 5-9 170 Mentor HS Baldwin Wallace
32 Michael Busch WR 6-0 190 Liberty Benton Ohio Northern
42 Sam Kershaw LB 6-0 220 West Jefferson Mount Union

And for the record, Perci Garner's name is on the roster at big33.org but his college preference is listed as
"undecided".  That's what big33.org has to say anyways.

I'm new to FL and haven't pushed any players up that way yet.  Maybe B4uknewit knows more as his son was one who ventured up to Alliance, but he is from the Gainsville/Ocala area so I don't know if he knows about the Sarasota pipeline.  I am currently making a career change to the teaching (and hopefully coaching) profession(s) and will try to send more N-Tampa talent to A-Town in the future though.  :)

I got my info from the JJHUDDLE website. They have a link to the Big 33 roster on their homepage. Who knows how up to date those rosters and background info are? All that means is, at one time he said he was going to MUC. We will have to wait and see.

Does it hurt or help Garner's chances on attending MUC that he threw the only TD for the Ohio squad in the Big 33 game?

Pennsylvania won 28-10 in front of 15,000.

The South dominated in the Grange North-South Classic 50-7 in front of 5000+.

None of the future OAC'ers were involved in scores.  (Defensive statistics for tackles were not available.)

Big 33 game was on the NFL Network last night.  Garner didn't play much QB, just a couple of series and the Ohio OL was not blocking real well.  Garner did play quite a bit of TE in the 2nd half.  Didn't block very well IMO.

He does have a big time arm, but overthrew about 3-4 deep routes.

ONUSports.com has a link to a feature story on the Jets official site.  I've linked it below.

congrats to trusnik... sounds like hes doing a very great job for himself. he represents the DIII family well. any thoughts on what matt campbell or justen stickly could have done if they tried or were given a chance?

HScoach

While great players in their own right, Campbell and Sticklely didn't have Trusnik's size.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Thought this story was interesting in regards to splitting D3 Athletics in half (scholarship & non-scholarship)...I picked it up from JJ Huddle:
