Concerns?

Where to put the trophy!

They had to add additional sprinklers in Timken in order to protect all the Walnut! ;)

Oh maybe a bit of overconfidence but it is usually not a problem with LK at the helm. It will be work harder to maintain and grow and not rest on the past.

Very pleased with the D3 preseason AA selections. Micheli for 2nd  team QB,
Wow I hope he lives up to the hype but based on his performance in some limited roles, The Stagg Bowl! I think we have our QB for the next two years. It never ceases to amaze how LK can continue to find the right guy for that job every year even when the job is shared.

GO RAIDERS!

raiderguy: I'm glad to see that you are okay. Knowing that I am planning to go to MN and be with people of MN for the St. John vs. Marietta game makes me feel closer to all those people who are affected by the tragedy. Americans all come together during a tragedy and even more so when you there is a common bond. I will pray for you raiderguy and all the people that are affected.

If I remembered correctly, raiderguy, you were going to give me suggestions of where to stay and visit during our 3 day weekend visit. Our plans are to drive because I haven't seen that part of the country before. We should arrive on Friday. We will spend the biggest part of the day Saturday tailgating and taking in the atmosphere of the game. I believe on Sunday we will spend it at the Mall of America. Of course this all depends on if Jr. makes the traveling team. He has a lot of work ahead of him and he wasn't mentioned in their preview. Most of the other new transfers were not mentioned either. I hope he can make an impression early so I will be able to enjoy the trip. I'm betting I will be there so I would like some input from you and/or anyone else from that neck of the woods.

Not sure how many of you check the blogs at the top of the D3 home page, but I would suggest stopping by the "Allen's life in the NFL" blog.  It links to Allen's blog with the KC Chiefs and it's a very interesting read.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

As a mount fan, and rare poster, I'm making myself nervous about the coming season.  I've never bee able to make it to a game in Salem, but just got hired to a school in Greensboro, NC...just a few hours from there.  Now with the chance to maybe see a game, my being so close could be the downfall of the program!  Here's to hoping the Purple and Black prove me wrong!

Relax Jaypeter...if you were the real Prince of Darkness and could bring the Raiders down all by yourself, do you think you would have been given any  POSITIVE KARMA????  Could there be a God who would allow it? You can do a self exorcism in the backyard by throwing a few "Hail MARYS" while chanting "GO RAIDERS" if it makes you feel better. ;)

Self-exorcism?  Hail Mary's?  I hadn't realized y'all knew I was a priest.

Yeah, I noticed the addition to my karma, too.  I just figured it was a CAP booster hoping what I said came true!

The Raiders offense appears to be scary good this year.  Defense is always solid.   Special teams should be better than last year.   My stagg bowl prediction has Mt. vs the Johnnies if they don't meet in the semi's.

jaypeter,

What school in Greensboro?  The head coach I work for used to be the head coach at Dudley HS, and I have met and know his successor at Dudley as head coach.

Provided that the Johnnies get by the Hawks.  Maybe the third time is the charm!   ;D

Apparantly I don't know how to really use the quote option...maybe this time it'll work better?  Anyways, I'll be at a K-8 Episcopal day school.  Not quite the same focus on athletics.

Hey, I got that quote thing this time!

reality check

It makes me all warm and fuzzy to know that an educator figured out the quotes function.  Our education system is indeed on the rise.   ;D

Kenyon's not in the OAC.
Spence,
Kenyon won 37 OAC championships in swimming between 1938-1984.  Kenyon left the OAC after the season in 1984.  They've won 21 conference titles so far in NCAC.

You have to actually see it in print to appreciate how many national championships they've won:

They're not in the conference now. In fact, they've crossed over to the dark side (the NCAC). They are dead to me. :)

Saw some talk about Michael Allen, the TE from Whitworth drafted by the Chiefs in both the "Daily Dose" and in here.

Just FYI, HBO is again airing the series Hard Knocks.  The team they are following through training camp this year?

The Kansas City Chiefs

Episode 1 airs August 8th at 10pm ET/PT.  Visit: http://www.hbo.com/hardknocks/ for info.

I don't have HBO at home in KY, but since I have been out here in the Pacific NW living in a hotel for the past month, I know that...  ;D
