Sorry about that - I meant to ask "WILL MUC score 700". I did not say it would be a good thing to do so - especially with all the "MUC needs to move-up" people.

I asked this question a couple of games into the season and did not get any responses, so I will try again. Does anyone think MUC can top 700 points for the season?

After today all MUC needs to do is average 32 over the next 5 games to get 702. Is it realistic? Granted the competition is up'd a level in the playoffs - but.....

Unless carefully put in context, I think that could be a very misleading (and perhaps not even a desirable) statistic.  With all the effort MUC (OK, LK) put into NOT running up the scores, it is clear that they could ALREADY have over 700 points if that were a goal.

That said, I think they will surpass 700, since they will easily score 50+ in the first two rounds despite 2nd half 'mercy' attempts.  And I can't see anyone holding them under 30-40 in later rounds (at least prior to the Stagg).

I think the answer is----Easily.

anyone taking guess on the seedings for the NORTH REGION? I've got

1) MOUNT
2) CWRU
3) WABASH
4) FRANKLIN
5) NORTH CENTRAL
6) MSJ
7) CONCORDIA (WIS)
#8 OLIVET

only shot i see for Cap having a bid is a very slim one in the East or South, depending on placements of other pool C teams, Salisbury, Waynesburg, Plymouth State and St John Fisher......does not good :-\
Roll RAIDERS RollBTW, anyone at the Mount game today notice the first team defense on the sideline in the second half watching intently and abit vocally as well that the second and third teamers didn't slip up and let anyone score?  GOTTA LOVE IT, WHAT A DEFENSE!  ROLL RAIDERS ROLL!

Mr. Ypsi

That line up looks pretty reasonable, but Whittier is currently beating Oxy (which might open up a C slot).  Wheaton currently has the highest SOS of all 8-2 candidates, so they might go before Cap.  Either way, one way of making space in the North would be sending CUW to the West.

altor

With that lineup, MSJ is #5 and NCC is #6.  But, since Franklin won't play MSJ, the way you have teams matched up for first round games is probably correct.

The question is, if Capital and/or Wheaton get in, who moves to what region?  Concordia to the West?  MSJ to the South?  Capital to the East or South?  Those decisions make a huge difference in the match ups for next week.

mtfan

that seems logical but wasn't sure from the West how that would fill out as Redlands would get the AQ should Whittier win,(looking at the score that seems nearly a done deal), and thought UW-Eau-Claire and St Johns would fill out the West region. Just my guesses.

yes, Franklin and MSJ wouldnt meet logically(or is it mythically,  ;D )  until the region final. Looking at how the other brackets are playing out and the amount of pool C's there are, it looks very remotely logical for Cap getting a bid in South Bracket, but unsure how the SOS or OWP for that matter plays out with those two remaining spots in the their bracket.

Mr. Ypsi

Pat informed me (on pool C board) that the SOS (combination of OWP and OOWP, but with unknown relative weights) are being aautomatically updated in the link from the front page.  Since Whittier-Oxy is the only game not yet final, they should be complete for nearly all teams.

mtfan

awesome, thanks Ypsi! Knew Pat had the Midnight oil going some how  ;D,  oops its past midnight here! Have a good night and about 10 hours we'll all know anyways.

Again...most impressed with that MUC defense.

All the offense does not bode well for the rest of us either since logic dictates so many are getting playing experience and will be back to haunt us NEXT year and beyond.

Yeah DOC ain't it great!  Mt.s back up QB throws TD passes and then comes in and catches TD passes.  This Short kid is a damn good all around athlete.  As long as the beef up front is talented .things look bright for years on down the road.  Maybe Mt. should move up, ya think?

And catches his OWN passes.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Very impressive yesterday.   If I am keeping this straight, that safety gave the defense 30 points for the season while giving up 24 (only 3 points given up by the first team).  It also was a D3 record for shutouts in a season--seven.
