The ONLY thing that makes sense is they just wanted to "shake things up" and have other teams play Mount Union early.  Also...they just must not have thought there was a true #1 in the East.

This bracket is pretty crazy!

Hey all you east teams.......WELCOME TO ALLIANCE!   ;)

Cap87Champs

interesting move i'd agree but mount will fair well regardless.  too bad the ncaa didn't make this move last year or the year before because it may have been an all-oac championship with muc and cap.

as for the crusaders at uw-w, i sure as heck hope they find some offense or it'll be a very long bus ride from to columbus from whitewater.

skunks_sidekick

Come on CAP!  Turn up that D....and pull out the "kitchen sink" plays.  Give them a game and pull out some OAC magic!   :)

The lamentations have started over at the E8 and NJAC boards.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Can we set the clock back to 1991 and play this game?  I'd like our chances then.....lol.

WOW! talk about some scrabble eggs for sunday breakfast!!! HOLY MOLY, are these brackets scrabbled or what?? GOTTA LOVED IT THOUGH, time for Mount to feast on some East. Heck, looks like the whole state of NY is looking for a shot at Mount! YOu mean they didn't get enough from our Indians?? HEHEHEHE

HEY JK and the Cap gang, great to see they got the chance, granted not an easy one, but hopefully they can get a little regrouped and the adrenaline flowing going after last years Div 3 runner-up! Any of you got some updates on who will be back for the Crusaders line up here by next week?

Great Job on ESPNU! Though it was running abit late here and went quick, it was a great job for the time allotted. Wish  they would give more time for the depth coverage it deserves, BUT THAT"S WHY WE GOT D3FOOTBALL.COM!!  ;D
..........checks in the mail, right?   ::) ;)

Good luck to the Crusaders!  They can't win if they can't score!

And welcome to Ithaca.  Hope you enjoy your visit.

Good luck Mount Union!  Hope too see another Mount - St. John Fisher matchup in the quarterfinals.
St. John Fisher College...King of the East

I understand Rocco was not feeling well, so was given a rest.

How about the outside chance of an all OAC Stagg!!  Good luck to the Crusaders!
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Cap87Champs

any thoughts on why cap drew the #1 seed vs. #2 like all other regions?  probably trying to save widener a little gas money so they sent them half way to cleveland instead?

mkhp

maybe the ncaa felt sorry for the the other OAC teams and wanted to make them feel good by sending Mt. Union to another bracket?? Just a thought.

D3 Poster

Congrats to the two OAC reps.  I hope Mount can keep it going and Cap find some more offense before Saturday.

I really liked Mount's front seven on defense, better than Caps.  Still give the nod to Cap's secondary, but with all the pressure Mount's front guys deliver, there aren't many plays to judge the Raider backs.

What a weapon in Shorts for the Raiders.  Excellent move getting him some snaps.  I like him as my #2 QB for the playoffs over Rocco...all though, with him , Davis and Garcon at wide out together...good golly, there's some speed on the field.

My hopes for Marietta to be competitive for awhile were quickly dashed on Saturday with the two first quarter turnovers.  I was going to add the short field, but with the long field Mount just threw the bombs for TDs.  There was no doubt Mount's O would score, but I wanted Etta to hang onto the ball longer on offense.

LK didn't help things either.  I was thinking that since everyone and their brother had success throwing the ball against Etta this season, maybe he could just try to pound the ball against us.  Nope, 300+ passing yards in the first half.  The Pios front guys did a good job against the rush.  So it was a bright (ok..a dull bright) spot that Kmic only had 39 yards on 11 carries and did not break the OAC career rushing record...of a former Pioneer...against Marietta.

Marietta also did a decent job on kick-off returns and set up our best (only) shot at breaking the Mount score-less streak cn the first possession of the 2nd quarter at Mount's 27.  The 3rd down pass to the wide open tight end was just tipped at the line by a LB.

As pointed out in an earlier post, when Etta's starting QB was knocked out in the second quarter...the lack of depth was evident.  That seems to be everyone's issue in the OAC except for the annual champ.

Hail to the victors and good luck in the playoffs.

A good percentage of these NY'ers are Red Sox fans in upstate, not Yankee fans.

Good point! LOL, My other half is from just over the NY border in Mass. and its the same there, diehard Red Sox territory. Makes for a great environment here when the Indians/Red Sox play!  ;D  Welcome to the Ithaca faithful, have a safe trip over!
