I generally hate to answer a questions with a question but is Donovan anywhere near as good as Robinson?  While he seems beter than the average DIII RB, he doesn't appear to be as good as Robinson was in 2006.

Donovan averages 108 a game and 5.3 a carry.  Robinson came into that game in 2006 averaging 112 a game and 6.0 a carry.  His averages were better than most agains the Raiders but 3.9 per carry for (39 yards on one carry by the way) 110 is still below his normal output.

Mount gave up 4 rushing TD's on the season last year and 1 of them was to Robinson.  The 2006 MUC defense gave up 30.0 rushing yards a game.

The 2007 unit has surrendered 1 rushing TD so far and is giving up 12.2 rushing yards a game.

I know games aren't won on paper but the paper says a less talented back is playing a more talented defense than the scenario with Robinson and MUC last year.  So you tell me who that favors.  I hope I'm wrong and Donovan gives those Raiders a game on Saturday.  But in the end, GO OAC!!!

Dude, this was my only point....your words...you are asking if Donovan is "anywhere near as good as Robinson."  To me you are insinuating that, in my words, there is a "huge difference" between the two.

The difference is 4 yards per game.....what am I missing and how do you put this to bed saying you win??

OAC Pick-Ems Fantasy Prediction from the West Coast:

Mount Union 31
Ithaca          0

I pick Ithaca and beat the spread (+31.5).
That's a win-win for everyone:  Mount advances and Ithaca gets respect for giving Mount best game of the year.  I'll take it.  8)

Last chance for entering the playoff pick-ems.

ha........ you cap will do well to limit beaver but eventually a lack of offense will nip them in the cheeks and uww's rushing game will take over in the fourth and put it out of reach.
clear?

Clear?  Not exactly.  You know, JCUers (and other jealous fans) have been saying for years that Mount players don't have to go to class...you're not exactly helping to dispel those allegations.

Just a day away from the games, the Pick-Em's are starting to take shape.

The Mother of All Locks is Mount Union over Ithaca by more than 31.5.
MUC = 100%
ITHACA = 0%

Pick-Em of the Week is Hartwick and Curry at an even 50/50.

Safe travel to all heading to games this weekend.

;)I feel like I am turning into the discussion board police! Common that's  a low blow on MUC Grads lol, LK doesn't mess around when comes to class and grades. Study tables, tutors, and so on.... It's not  Sabre's fault his grammar and spelling are struggling... As a Mount guy myself I will push that blame on the push for whole language through out grade schools, not MUC lol

My brother graduated from MUC.  He's heard way worse than that from me...just poking fun.   ;D

I probably shouldn't waste my time doing this but here's my super-duper, top-secret, complex system for determining Robinson is a better back:

I start with the fact that Robinson had more yards on less carries, more TD's, a better yards per carry number, along with the fact that ROBINSON split more carries with his backup (Reile: approx 11 carries a game) than Donovan does with his backup (Baez: approx 8 carries a game).  For the record:

Also, maybe the Ithaca guys can help me with this one, but I believe Donovan shares carries with Baez....for the most part, Robinson carried the mail by himself.

Donovan splits carries and still averages 108 per game while Robinson averaged 112 with all the carries....
Baez's 82 carries appears to be less than the 148 Reile had last year.  I'm led to believe Donovan gets more of his team's carries than Robinson did based on those simple numbers.  Maybe my math is shaky; I'm just an idiot from the OAC that makes things up when I want to afterall.

Back to the formula...I also add in the fact that the opinions of those from the East that have shared their thoughts were unanimous in the fact that NO ONE said Donovan was the better back and Robinson was given the edge.  Then I also take an additional measure that it was mentioned that Ithaca's line is stronger as a whole than Robinson's linemen meaning that Robinson had less help on his line (I concede the fact that SJF's was desrcibed as larger across the board though).  Then as a kicker I look at career numbers and see that Robinson had a better four year career and Donovan's best season by far was his freshman year (ie. regression).

When I add my highly complex formula up, a red light flashes, bells and whistles go off and a DING, DING, DING can be heard.

Advantage: Robinson
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Presto

i've just been wasting an hour of my life reading the crap a lot of posters from the east are saying.  one thing is after this week they're be talking basketball for sure they have no idea what awaits them. mount by +40 at least. these guys would be looking at a 6th place finish in the oac tops!

I wouldn't go that far.  They're in the playoffs for a reason.  You're telling me you think they're worse than JCU (it pains me to say that)?

RE: Robinson v. Donovan

Robinson hands down - Let's move on. I know both of you doods are not wanting to talk about it anymore.

RE: East teams being on "par" with JC

That would put them T-4 in the OAC, not 6th. That's not even adding in the intagible factors that play into it... For Example: You're out of your mind.

Presto

you're one of the east's biggest ??? based on a lot of your posting this week.  also you better relook at the oac standings i didn't say on par with bw can you count 1 2 3 4 5 6 i hope so cause on one side of the scoreboard tomorrow you'll get a lot practice and no i am not a mount union fan just tired of your and a lot of other posters crap but it will be over come tomorrow.

Here is my useless and wrong prediction:
