In virtually every category TCNJ is a better team than Curry. Curry has the honor of being the best team from the worst conference. No bragging rights for beating either TCNJ or Curry. They are both dreadful for a playoff team. Grab some reality.

Agree with that 100% --- both Fisher & Mt. Union did what they were expected to do & disposed of both of their Rd. 2 opponents, not much can be gained by looking at it any other way.

Hobart would have destroyed Curry - I would put much more stock in that game if Fisher fans are looking for good signs.

The offensive and defensive schemes were not flexible and very predictable.  The pressure defense is effective, but not every single play.  That only works in PlayStation.

LOL good point! think its time for the new XBOX 360   k+ 2u

The results for Round 2 and the spreads for Round 3 have been posted.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I believe Widener played a stunt, blitzing D a few years ago,,they gave up 70 or so to Mount ,,maybe people will learn  that MUC has a game plan for that type of d .

I just have to wonder: how bad is RPI? I'm sorry. The TCNJ coaching staff should be arrested for taking money under false pretenses. There was some talent there, but it was wasted by a clueless coaching staff who took the whole play clock to call plays that went no where. I wanted to go out a throw a block for TCNJ #6. That poor kid was playing with all the heart in the world and was getting his head handed to him.
Kudos on the most obvious fake punt in history. Most high schools would have the sense not to run that play.
And finally an offensive line that made JCU's look good: five guys nicknamed Tater.

and hey, "A Solid Defense"??????? Mount could have scored a 100.

That was the most awful display of playoff football since the Mount-Lycoming Stagg Bowl.

I was thinking about that.  In order to beat MUC, you cant play scared (run down the clock).  You have to attack them and score points.

Too bad this whole round was a joke. Wonder if the automatic bids and the inflated rankings to "reward teams" had anything to do with it.

Automatic bids make a joke of the playoffs. This weekend proves it better than anything else ever could.

And your offensive plan has to be more dynamic than hoping for five yards for drawing the National Champions off sides.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Was this round any different of a "joke" than MUC's run through the OAC and to this stage in the play-offs every year...

Notwithsatnding, I do agree with you, if what you are getting at is that certain teams are not deserving of their AQ's...but it is no different than the AQ'S handed out to NCAA basketball teams every March.  It is the price 'we' pay for actually having our National Championship played out on the field as opposed to in some CEO's boardroom...{insert Bowl game corporate sponsor name here}...

Ditto.  :P
But at this point, as someone else said earlier, there are no pretenders.

Hasn't Mount lost more recently in the OAC than in the postseason?

There's more parity in college basketball (and basketball in general) than D-III football. There's at most one bad round in basketball, even that round sees quite a few upsets. Here, we get 59-7 in the 2nd round. We get Wabash and Case Western, where neither team really deserved to be where they were.

Eh, I give up. Apparently everyone is fine with the **** kickings that get handed out this time every year. Marietta's as good as some of these teams.

1. (is anyone?) (Yes, God, hscoach, ric, and maybe rc.)

I'm humbled runyr.  This might be the highlight of my Post Patterns life....maybe

lol

I can tell from today's post-game posting that this is going to be a highly entertaining week.  I can't wait.

I love when someone from another region or conference thinks they know all they need to know about MUC and the OAC because they can spend two minutes reading up on the stats that will help their cause and avoid the stats that would disprove it.

Pick a year other than 2007 for the non-parity talk.  Sure the OAC might be down a bit from other years but there was more parity in the OAC in this year than most.  BW gets beat by Heidelberg.  OTT beats Capital.  ONU loses to BW.  JCU loses to Wilmington in OT and later beats OTT in 3OT.  It wasn't the traditional top three teams, big step down to the next three and huge step down to the last four like normal.  Next argument!

And yes, it's apparent the excuses are already rolling in for this weekend.  With four games in three years, I'd love to see SJF play tight and really get the OAC's respect but it's tough when the injured player card is played just hours after the second round game concluded.

This should be a fun week.  Go OAC.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

D O.C.

Quoteyou are usually a level headed poster.  Whats with dissing the New Jersey coaching staff?

I noticed several Posters of the Powerhouse were a tad more sharp than usual. Everyone has their right to do so within reason. It sounds like there was some unacceptable behavior today.

I sure hope Spence's team doesnt play Marietta in baseball this year. ;)

Regarding injuries: Anybody surprised that LK doesnt have a backup fullback ready to go? With all the players at his disposal to choose from, I'm surprised nobody is stepping in to fill that role. Maybe you will see a converted guard or tight end back there if the situation calls for it. Nate is missing his lead blocker...and the sledding is going to just get tougher from here on out.

Is Barren done? Its been six weeks since the injury. He should be healed by now.

Spence I have a feeling that you never played college football for anybody.  Am I correct?

Sep. 15  7:00 PM  Otterbein * •  W, 58-14

Sep. 29  1:30 PM  at Heidelberg * •  W, 62-3
Oct. 6  1:30 PM  at Ohio Northern * •  W, 44-0
Oct. 13  1:30 PM  Wilmington * •  W, 59-0
Oct. 20  1:30 PM  Baldwin-Wallace * •  W, 35-0
Oct. 27  1:30 PM  at Capital * •  W, 37-0
Nov. 3  1:30 PM  at John Carroll * •  W, 53-0
Nov. 10  1:30 PM  Marietta * •  W, 57-0

Although you did kind of put that phrase into context, Im not sure it is still totally accurate.

And its impossible to tell which teams were tougher simply by just looking at the scores.  Unless you were at every MUC game, your opinion as to which opponent or conference is better really has to be taken with a grain of salt.

But Im sure every MUC fan would agree that Ithaca moved the ball through the air the entire game agaisnt MUC pretty well and better than any OAC team did this year.
