Regarding the crap that went on between certain TCNJ players and a group of fans yesterday let me just say this.  I didn't see everything or hear much so I don't know everything that happened.  But what I didn't see was a problem.  I did not see one TCNJ coach get in their kids faces about even looking or reacting to the crowd behind them.  There should be much bigger things going on, like a football game.  We all know what would happen if a Mount player would do something like that.  The second time it happened I was really surprised their coaches didn't react better towards their kids.

But kids are kids.  And that had to be a frustrating day yesterday for them.  What can I say about a handful of adults that week in and week out have to show how little class they have and bring the entire college down with them.  YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND YOU KNOW ME AND ITS TIME YOU GROW THE HELL UP! This isn't high school, you're not students, you're adults, so how about you start acting like it!

I know for a fact some of you received letters a few years back about shaping up or running the risk of losing your season tickets.  Well its time the college does just that.  At the very least move them way down to the south end away from the players and away from the visiting fans.  This is the same group that jeered Tom Arth when he got hurt a few years ago and it's the same group that week in and week out has to do the stupid childish "Start the bus" chant.  I mean this isn't high school and you are not 16 years old.  We don't need this crap by you at these games. Because you bring us all down.

Oh btw, these are the same guys that never saw Jim Ballard take a snap.  In other words, they are bandwagon fans that never saw Mount Union play before they won national championships.  And they will be the first gone when the winning stops.  It's time Mount Union College, to get them the heck away from where they are!

If the site would allow me I'd give you 1,000 karma points for this one!

Hear, hear--1000k for Ric.

I'd love for some of those idiots to get taken down a notch or two.  Interesting that Ric states that they aren't in high school any more--well, not as students at least, but I believe that at least one of them teaches at AHS--I'm surprised the high school hasn't addressed his behavior in a public setting.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Hey now. Take it easy on these former Junior High back-up QB's. They clearly know the ins and outs of a football game. They can win with class. I'm sure they prove it to each other in their daily cut-throat foosball tournaments. When they aren't doing that they prolly give each other high fives for taking a big poop.

I've seen/heard these guys. They are flat out idiots. They do not stand for MUC. I would like to see them banned for life. We don't need them as fans.

I'm done ranting.

Like I said, we typically avoid the academic card.  We leave that to some of the other conferences.

You can't spell NESCAC without "N" "C" "A" "C".

Easy now...I personally hate the academic card being thrown out toward MUC or any other OAC school and I'm not alone amongst NCAC fans.  The academic card posting thread usually gets shut down with a quickness on the NCAC board and I haven't seen it for quite some time now.  Let's save the books for Sunday-Friday and just enjoy good football on Saturdays.   :)

Just got back from Thanksgiving at my 90-year-old parents, so finally catching up on Saturday's action.  I also discovered that I was on the wrong side of hscoach's spread on MUC for the xxth consecutive time (haven't actually counted, but way more than MUC's consecutive Stagg wins, though probably less than their consecutive final fours).  It finally occurred to me that, through reverse psychology, it is a statistical certainty that I control the final scoring margin!  Thus, as a public service, I will put such awesome power to the good of 'Raider Nation':

Would you prefer a tight game to prepare better for the rest of the tourney (in which case I will pick MUC to cover the spread, guaranteeing at least a comparative 'nail-biter'), OR

Would you prefer another blowout (in which case I will pick SJF, and the spread will probably be exceeded by the end of the first quarter).

By casting your vote, you too can share in this amazing talent (of course, it will cost me 4 points, but I'd lose 'em anyway)! :P

I was just hoping an NCAC guy would take the bait or take notice of the little dig.  I'm not trying to be discourteous to the NCAC posters.  For the most part, the card is not played any more with the exception of one NCAC poster that gets on my nerves for his consistent subtle use of the idea whenever an OAC team beats an NCAC team.  He'll remain nameless for now.

It is Sunday though... :)

You guys keep fighting this week.  I've heard Wabash always does that afterall.   :)

What really gets my goat is not just when NCAC posters pull the b.s. academic card against the OAC, but it's even been played this year between the conference cellar dwellars against the schools at the top of the standings. It's just as dumb. The academic discussion is even happening in the WIAC board right now. Weak all around. I wish that card would just go away.

And thanks for the well wishes. Good luck to y'all as well.

Ditto and +k for you and wally.

Ditto on the 1000 +k for ric about the obnoxious "adult" fans who get away with taunting visiting players.  A few total jerks hurt the whole school and town.  They should get the boot.

Yes, MUC beat up on TCNJ.

As bad as a beating as it sounds, it is worth noting that TCNJ did put up more points on the board today than 8 of the 9 OAC opponents that MUC has faced this year. .

.

I hate to go back and rehash this, but this is the first chance I've gotten to post.

Nice job simply looking at the final score.  Is it not worth noting that to get that touchdown it took TCNJ 5 plays to go 12 yards to get that touchdown?  The only reason that game wasn't a shutout was because Mount fumbled at their own 12, not because of anything TCNJ did.  The Lions offense was able to muster a mighty .779 yards per play they were only on Mount's side of the 50 three times (2 of the 3 drives began in Mount territory, the third they managed to get all the way to the Mount 49).  Hush, now, SJF Fan.  You'll have your turn on Saturday.

Not a D3 topic but I used to read and post here frequently.  Just letting some of the "old school" posters that my thoughts have been away from D3 this year as the team I coach here in South Carolina has been on a pretty impressive run.  This upcoming Saturday we play for teh South Carolina AAA State Championship at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Go Cyclones and Go OAC!

e-lee,

good to see you around here, again.  Best of luck this weekend, too!  I hope your men keep up the run they've had this year for at least one more game!

I'm slow on the up-take.  Thanks Seventiesraider, he is a good kid, and Wow! what a ride that was.  That whole class was filled with terrific young men.

Concerning the jerks in the stands, Ric has appealed to them to clean up their act several times through the years.  Maybe we should all get seats in that section and try to remind them where they are.  I always sit on the home side and have never witnessed any classless acts from Mount fans, of course, most of them are sleeping by half time.

Anyway, nice try TCNJ, you now know how much work you have to do.
Peace to All,  Go Raiders!!!

seventiesraider

It's really a sad note when a visiting fan, probably a parent, has to go and get a police officer so they can watch the game in peace. I can be a jerk, but these guys are pro's. If anybody from the school reads this board, and I know they do, the time is long past to get control of these jerks and take away their seats if necessary. Enough is enough, and it has gone on way too long.

TCNJ scoring after the fumble is actually how they won several games.  They were very good at causing mistakes and capitalizing on the mistakes.  They would play good D and keep it close and the offense was very oppurtunistic.  Like Phil stated when a team is picked to finish next to last and they make it to the second round of the playoffs against the national champs most fans and the program as a whole has to proud of what they accomplished.  Maybe it is time to stop ripping a program and recognize what they accomplished.  They did score more than many of the OAC teams did against Mount but some of you have to trivialize that accomplishment instead recognizing that they did something most of the OAC teams could not do.  It doesn't matter how it is scored or how many yards a drive covered it is still 7 points and it was scored early in the game.

When it comes to baseball many of you probably wish those loudmouthed Yankee and Redsox fans would just shut up and stop acting like the playoffs and world series appearances are their birthright.  There are a few of you who need to look in that mirror.

Most of you are good posters, maybe a little over the top sometimes, but that is understandable, but the others know who they are and just like Ric said that some fans in the stands should show a little class, some posters need to show a little class.  And that goes for posters from the east region also.
