AO's prediction of 28-17 was right on the mark.  I can't believe that no one in Vegas has hired him to make lines yet.
They should have practiced harder.

I have to admit that this years addition of the The Mount is very imposing...but then I am not so sure their competition has been that good either...So we'll just see how things go.  I think Bethel will definetly be the best team Mount has faced this year and might surprise us all.

Bethel definitely was not the best team Mount faced this year.  The only thing that suprised me was how confident their fans seemed going into this game (purchasing plane tickets to Salem according to a news report in Minn.) and how overmatched they were on the field.
They should have practiced harder.

No way that is true.  I hope.  That all but guaranteed the beatdown.  What sane sportsfan would ever put a jinx that big out there for a game this big?

In the blue corner we have the challenger and in the red corner we have the champ.

In the first round the challenger repeatedly tries to go to the mouth area of the champ but misses wildly while the champ keeps connecting to the body...oh, those body shots really hurt...oh! There's another shot to the body in the first minute and the challenger goes down! The challenger keeps trying to go for the head but the champs' defense is to good to let anything through. We're still in the first round and there goes the challenger to the ground again but gets back up. WOW! The champ lands a brutal blow to the midsection and again the challenger goes down. End of round one. Round 2 and the champ is putting it to the challenger...this is getting ugly for the challenger...the challenger goes down but gets back up but...whoa! He goes down again! It's all over after the second round! Despite the challenger's promise to go to the head, nose and mouth he never got close. It was all champ today folks!

Good night and good luck! See ya all in Salem!

The Bethel punch in the mouth didn't work so well, as MUC took it, laughed it off, kicked Bethel in the nuts then stomped on their throats.  Game over.  Early.

Nice game today by the Raiders.  Especially on "O" versus a fast and well tackling Bethel D.

The yards gained by Bethel in the 4th quarter against the MUC #2 defense will make this game look statistically closer than it really was.  MUC scored every single time they had the ball in the first half and Bethel could do anything with the ball.  Once again Pat McCullough and Nick Parr completely dominated up front.  Wasn't even a contest at the line of scrimmage.

On to Salem for MUC/WWW Part 3.

Too bad MHB couldn't finish the deal on the goal line.  1st and goal at the 2 and no points?  UGH.  I was really hoping we'd see someone other than Whitewater, but no such luck.

I actually like WWW's chances better than most will think because of the apparent upgrade at QB and coaching.  The previous offensive gameplans and play calling were terrible.  I don't have any idea about the new O coordinator for WWW, but it has to be better than the last 2 years.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Oh, I don't know.  We had our hotel reservations a couple months ago ;D

Can you folks from Bethel say 'Monkey Stomp!!'  Isn't that the term used out west??  Kidding aside, Congrats on a Great season Bethel, thanks for playing.  Question?  I thought Capitol had one of the best defenses in D3 this year, and yet, UWW hung 34 on them.   Then UWW only puts up 16 on UMHB.  Whats the game going to be like against Mount??

I have been in the office all day today so I actually watched a lot of the UWW-MHB game.  Though I wasn't paying tons of attention I would attribute the score to two things: 1) The weather looked terrible and the field was in rough shape.  Everyone was falling down.  2) Seemed to me that UMHB dominated TOP.

But unless you're a Mount supporter, that's considered presumptuous.

hscoach,
Well it might make a difference if it takes a mount guy to breat a Mount guy. The new o coordinator for WW is Jim Zibrowski class of '91. He came over from lakeland in the spring. That and a mobile QB will give the Raider D something else to think about next week.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

JT

Sh*t, at this point a couple of lead changes next week would be refreshing.

One thing that really confused me...Bethel wanted to run and control the game but after winning the toss elected to kick and give the ball to Mount...not to smart, eh?

Game thoughts,  BU had a nice team and played well at times and at other times did not.  Not much variety on offense but their speed helped on some end runs.  Nothing up the middle and when their QB left in the second quarter that seem to further limit what the offense could do.  I thought their defense was pesky and their  D backs had some speed.  They even caught up to Garson once.  Their fans were vocal  but reality set in rather quickly.  They didn't have the horses to stay with MT.   The absence of play makers on offense was quite evident.  Refs were a non factor.  Mt. must have had their lowest penalty yardage of the year.  In my opinion IC gave Mt. their best game so far.  BU was given a royal baptism by the Raiders in the semis.  Excuse my play on words.  On to Salem   Virginia is for Raiders!  This kinda resembled the Widener game of some years ago, a lot of talk  but not much substance.

Those refs must have brought dog whistles today by mistake. ::) The late hit penalty out of bounds against MUC was a crock. No whistle, so no late hit. Thats why the runner continued upfield wasnt it? Then 2 minutes later they stopped a play without a whistle again!

You gotta love those Bethel fans. They never stopped cheering their players on...no matter what the score. And they stayed around after the game to show their appreciation for the season with a big hand for the team. Big props to the Bethel backers!

In my section of the stadium alone, I estimate that around 30 Stagg Bowl tickets were purchased during halftime via cell phone. Is that a NCAA record also? ;D  How many hotel rooms were cancelled  in the visitors section by the final gun?

This year MUC is the "visitor" in the Stagg Bowl. After 10 appearances we certainly feel AT HOME there. There must be some mistake! ; ;D

GO RAIDERS! DO IT AGAIN. WIN TITLE 10!

Sixty for Seventies and another Father - Son trip to Salem.

The only thing that could have made it better was being there to party today.

Congratulations Raiders and Raider Faithful

Heck, for a while it seemed as if seventy for seventies was within reach, even if they were trying NOT to score.
