rc    Those players you credit to Case all played for Western Reserve not Case.  As did Bill Belichick's father Steve.

Yeah, I watched that too. As a TCNJ fan I was never too fond of K.C. He's done well at Delaware and it seems like they have a monster QB. The biggest news seems to be that he's finally realized that looking cool  8) while wearing sunglasses 95% of the time takes a backseat to actually seeing what's going on out on the field.
The game announcers did say K.C.'s favorite word when talking about a few of his players:  "transfer."

WW coach seems to be too cool a customer to stick his foot in his mouth as the BU coach did.  I suspect things will be very low key from WW this week.

I wish UWW's coach Leipold would make a comment like BU's coach.. something like" mount hasn't been punched in the mouth.".. anything to heat up the raiders. I wonder if BU's coach regrets those remarks?
Dang, I've wondered the same thing.  That was unbelievable, no matter the context.  I don't think any of Whitewater's coaches would make that mistake talking about Mount.  I hope I'm wrong.  I'd love to hear one of them say it.   ;)

Fans talking trash doesn't count much, though I don't think Whitewater fans are thinking that way toward the Raiders.  They know and respect Mount Union and vice versa.

In a week when there was no USF, UCF, or other Florida college football games to report on, here is what today's Tampa Tribune had to say about the results of yesterday's NCAA Div II/Div III college football playoff games (game story/write-up and/or listing of scores):

The MUC-Bethel game write-up that I found on Yahoo! Sports says that MUC's record is now 13-0.

Sorry ... Given my background and experiences, the media's reporting of news/facts via an approach of "that's close enough, should we decide to tell you anything" leaves a whole lot to be desired.

At least MUC was not called the "Blue Raiders."

WW will not have any trash talk from coaches They have their own MOUNT GUY on the staff. He seems to have built a nice offensive scheme around Danny Jones. But they still must contened with the master LK . Too many weopons and a shut down D will equal #10.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

MUC FAN,
I respectfully disagree. I thought we would never see a team as strong as '97. This team though! .....Better D then '97. more offensive weapons. too much for other teams to contend with.    3x threepete....(threepete-threepete)

Let's see if this team can finish the deal BEFORE we worry about where they fit into the Mount history books.

Do I need to remind everyone that this same discussion occured in 2003?    >:(

RC,

Noticed one overlooked player from your pro-career list...

Ben Davis (Defiance College) - DB for Cleveland Browns from 1967-1973, and Detroit Lions from 1974-1976

That is how I am feeling this week.  I think this years UWW team will be the toughest challenge in the Stagg for MTU since 2003.

Personally, I'm a little disappointed that GVSU lost the other night.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that had they won, we would have 3 teams trying to get a three-pete in college football (App. State, GVSU and MUC).  I think that would have been pretty neat to see.
They should have practiced harder.

And we also would have had Ohio State going for two losses in a row in the championship game! ;)

Is the 18.5 point spread for the Stagg the lowest for a MUC game this year?  As good as WW is, I know they play in a tough conference and all that, I would be shocked if the game is closer than 3 touchdowns.  This may be the toughest Whitewater team that MUC has faced, but I also think that this is the best MUC team that WW will have seen.

I do think that it is interesting to see that at the beginning of the playoffs, the Playoff Capsule for UWW was saying that "this Whitewater team might not be as strong as last year's" and now there seems to be at trend towards people naming them their best team of the last three years.  The lost a lot due to graduation and also lost their coach.  While I will admit I don't remember a lot from the last two years of Whitewater teams (I was not able to keep up with the national picture the last few years as much as this year), this seems to be maybe their best shot at Mount.  Why?  They have a good running game that will keep MUC honest.  Let's be honest that big reason for Mount's success against the run is their dedication to stopping the run.  Beavers will keep them honest.  But, UWW has a strong QB and a talented group of receivers that might be able to take advantage of Mount's aggressiveness against the run.  Can Whitewater's offense keep up with Mount's?  That's a tall task in most years, and could be a major obstacle this year.  My best guess?  Whitewater will points on the board through the air, but not enough to catch up to the Raiders.

I'm surprised the COACH'S WINNING PERCENTAGE statistic hasn't been compared yet.

Larry Kehres = 92.3% (260-20-3)
Lance Leipold = 92.4% (13-1)

Advantage?  WHITEWATER! ;D
