RC:  speaking of OC fantasy players, who's going to be ONU's starting QB, TB and go-to-WR?

Ric and I were debating selecting more ONU players, but we didn't know if Quirk was going to be The Man and who is taking Weber's TB spot (Garrod?).  You do have to love that we picked ONU's defense in the 4th Round (which I think was 2nd defense taken).

In terms of the MUC guys, yes, the OAC should look out.  A backfield with Ibeh and Robinson will be a HUGE upgrade from 2003 and 2004.  Robinson's vision and speed make him the homerun threat that the Strauch and Ciccone could only dream off.  And the new WR is getting comparisons to Adam Marino from people that typically don't toss around complements too freely.  Garcon's production on a crappy Norwich team tells me he'll be a statisitical stud.  The only real question mark is QB.  Not sure which one will start, of if they'll be the full time QB.  But either way, with LK's history of selecting QB's, I'm comfortable having the MUC QB as our 3rd string guy.

IS IT FOOTBALL SEASON YET??????????

JCUAlum-

All 10 NCAC schools are PBK institutions....and apparently it's a pretty big deal to the NCAC brass.  Word around the water cooler this summer was that Rose-Hulman looked seriously at gaining membership to the NCAC, but they aren't a PBK institution (even though they are an elite engineering school) and that was a deal breaker.  NCAC's loss if you ask me.  Anyway, just wanted to clarify the PBK thing for you.

if anybody in the north central part of the state was listening yesterday afternoon, the sound you heard was a collective sigh of relief coming out of Ada.  The Bears had their scrimmage yesterday with Adrian and looked better than I have ever seen them look against Adrian.  the offense, which had been somewhat of a question mark, showed that they are up to the task, scoring twice on their first possesion,(scrimmage format, 10 plays starting at their own 35), and moving the ball well against a defense that had 3 All-Americans and was advertised as possibly the best defense Adrian has ever had.  Defensively, Adrian only scored at the end of the scrimmage in an overtime situational format.
Obviously, one scrimmage doesn't make a season, but if the Bears use this scrimmage as their baseline and continue to improve each week, it could be a special season for ONU.

I only associate with PBR institutions.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

l39eagle has been keeping my informed regarding camp/scrimmages and it appears that Quirk is being penciled in at QB, I would have to think Garrod will have the start but there might be someone else that will turn some heads... as far as WR, the concern is a deep threat for now.  But the Fun N Gun might be defunked...

RC, Ric, and HSCoach,

Are you guys talking about a D3 fantasy league?

You have to be freaking kidding me.

If there is a d3 fantasy league, then the whole Fantasy thing has gotten WAAAAAAAAY out of hand.

I'm not in the league but if you go into the general football discussion from the main thread, there's a link.  You can see just how "out of hand" its gotten.  They are running a class act however.  But it's not way out of hand because of us being D-3 fans, its out of hand because Ric actually has a GM for his squad.

That's an understatement!  The draft was last night via the web.  Draft started at 9:00.  Didn't end until 12:30 which made my 5:45 alarm come way too quick.  Our "pre-draft work" began weeks ago with the review of the player rankings and then followed by 1000 e-mails between Ric and I.   We met for 3 hours prior to the draft to finalize our picks and strategy.  Which paid off bigtime as The Ric pulled off the steal of the night by trading draft picks with the Rowan guy (JT) so that we could jump up in the 2nd round.  What a hoot!  It took forever, but it was a blast!

And yes, it's official that we are completely crazy and need to get a real life........

Ric,

Amen.

If we were younger and had less stuff on our plate, one or both of us might have started a fantasy league.  Kid definately has the bug.

As for me, I'm recovering from one of my PC's crashing and find myself a little behind on rowanfootball.com.  I'm gonna try to get caught up this weekend.  If I'm lucky I'll finish editing the 2004 highlight video within the next two weeks.

RC:  Well, a "GM" might be overstating my involvement with the Willie Seiler Mudhens.  I'm more like the nervous fat guy that sharpens the boss' pencils.

hscoach,

It should be noted that I went willingly in the swap, and I had an idea what Ric was after.  I was after some different things, and for the most part I "hope" I got them.

HScoach

JT:  I never intended to mean that we stole something from you.  I thought the trade made perfect sense for both of us.   It was others that we were trying to sneak past.

hscoach,

That's cool.  Its all for fun, but I can tell there are a lot of competators doing this.  I had the same buzz I get before sitting down at a Texas Hold 'Em table.

JT

It was kinda neat... shook things up
