You know there's another OAC alum who has some Coordinator experience that might want to come back to coach in Ohio.  All Capital would need to do is throw in a couple purple hoodies and go with the "your current boss is a D-III alum and look at his success as a HC" angle.

Besides, Capital has to be an upgrade from New England right? ;D

I say CAP goes after Josh McDaniels!
His name has been thrown around about a HC NFL job.  That's where he's heading next.
Reality,

I like it.  Unfortunately, like JT says, it is more likely he will land, if not this year than fairly soon, some place that pays much, much better than Capital  ;D

What's amazing to me is the age of some of these guys.  When Collins was hired at Cap 11 years ago, he was 30, and there was discussion that he might be "too young," even at the D3 level.  Now, Lane Kiffin is an NFL HC at 32-33, and McDaniels (who is 31-32, I think) is a guy a lot of people in NFL circles have identified as a "future HC," and likely very soon.  In the D1 ranks, Major Applewhite's name is one I have heard mentioned a lot as a "future HC," and he is early 30's.  Used to be that you had to "pay your dues," which meant 10+ years of working your way "through the ranks," and even then it seemed you had to be a certain age.  It's good to see that some young guys who can coach are now able to be recognized for their abilities and not their age.

The thing that might preclude Josh from being considered for the Dolphins is that he probably won't want to be in the AFC East opposing Belechick.  Course that didn't stop Mangini.  But I've heard Josh's name being brought up on the radio sports talk shows lately.

And as far as age goes, it really comes down to pedigree.  The Parcells-Belechick family tree has strong NFL roots.  Plus with all the time and effort it takes to be a NFL HC, its looking like the younger guys have the stamina and the fortitude (see: Petrino, Saban).

McDaniels is staying with the Pats for at least next season.  If you really look deeper into the Parcells Belechick coaching tree, you will see it goes back further.  Paul Brown begat Don Shula, who begat Bill Arnsparger, who begat Bill Parcells, who begat Bill Belechik, Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis.

Hey don't forget to give Marietta some props in the coaching area...Glaser moved from Marietta to UW-EC and was in the playoffs in year two and Wiese was a finalist at UW-WW last year.

Now we just need to get Marietta into the playoffs. :)

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Man, I'm gone for a week and the place lights up!  Congrats to Coach Collins on his next step.  Good luck to Capital in finding a good replacement.  Collins really brought Capital to a high level and it's been an exciting few years against Mount Union.

Hmmm...a new coach agianst Mount Union?  I'll definitely be paying close attention October 11.

ESPN article this morning says McDaniels declined offers from Atlanta and Baltimore to interview for a HC position.  He stated that he intends to stay in NE for at least one more year.  I think it's a smart move.  He's obviously in a great place and just building upon his already impressive young resume.  I think turning down Atlanta makes a lot of sense.  I wonder if he would have considered the move there if Parcells did take the football operations position.  Baltimore would have been intriguing though.  Baltimore has an aging but solid defense and he'd have the chance to show what he's capable of in building an offense in his "hometown" conference with chances to coach in front of local crowds in Pitts, Cleve and Cincy.

He's had an incredible rise through the coaching ranks.  I wish him the best and credit him on a smart decision.

As someone who lives in the Canton area, I can't help but hope that McDaniels is successful when he does get his shot.  His journey (which they have chronicled a few times here in the local paper) is a very interesting, and cool story.  Hopefully, he finds a good fit that allows him the best chance for success.

The Brown's OC "Chud" is interviewing for the Baltimore job.  His offensive scheme was really refreshing for us Cleveland fans, and I would hate to lose him.

Mike Kauffeld was the D-coord when I was at Cap and is a former Cap All-American.  I have no idea what he is doing now, but I know he left Cap to be the HC at Teays Valley.  If he's still in football, he might want to come back to his alma mater.
Pretty sure I interviewed with a Middle School Principal named Mike Kauffield at TV a few years back

Check out the Daily Dose. I pieced together some thoughts about the Orange Bowl and Stagg Bowl. I hope you find it entertaining.

Even made a mention of the purple stuff I had from a few MUC fans!

JK,
I owe you a response and hope to get it to you today.

A quick google search on Kauffield's name shows numerous mentions if him as the head coach at Teays Valley still.
