Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone.

I heard that some sort of cogent and evictive spaghetti monster wanted to interview at Marietta... but with everything that's gone on this last week, I could just be misremembering.

Oh yeah, you also keep telling us playing time does not make a player better.

I said no such thing. I have however not heard a single cogent argument for what material difference playing a guy one series against a team like Mount Union would have made.

I have been consistent. I don't see a single game where it would have made a difference.

You've really made an impressive mark on this board, being compared to some of the worst posters of all time. Your negative plus 200 karma, which shows how much, or in your case how little, people agree with you, should probably be worse.

negative plus? Not sure if your grammar sucks, your math sucks, or both.

Sometimes I tell people things they don't want to hear. So they ding my karma. C'est la vie. It's not like it's real karma and eventually the Flying Spaghetti Monster is going to smite me with his noodly appendage for my transgressions against the single-minded interolants that ding my karma.

ANy news on who interviewed at Marietta. It has been rumored that Jim Zebrowski from UW-Whitewater was interviewing but have not heard anything solid to confirm the rumor.
Has or will Marietta announce who is interviewing or who the finalists are?
Any inside informatiion that you guys in the OAC board may know would be appreciated.
All of the WW faithful are hoping that we don't lose coach Z as he did a great job for us this year.

I'll accept any and all apologies now.

Congrats on the new little bundle of joy, Reality.  May she live a long, happy and healthy life.  Very nice change of subject on the board.

That's not even a word.  Great time to post about someone else's grammar/math skills.  Time to turn the page on your word of the day calendar.

rc,

With all the responses you could have made, you had to go and do that one. :(  Intolerant IS also a noun, indicating an intolerant person.

Anyone got any football news?  Good jokes?  Bad jokes?  Anything?

But "interolant" isn't.  Don't rain on my parade Ypsi.  I had a baby this week and I caught the first two mistakes someone has ever made.   :)

Sorry, rc.  I got so used to reading college student papers, typos often slid right by!  (Spellcheck was a godsend - what used to be simply gibberish that I recognized as words became actual words that were often hilariously out of place.  Two of my favorites: 'male counterparts' became 'male contraband' [I offered to be Elle McPherson's contraband anytime!] and juvenile records being 'atomically' rather than 'automatically' expunged [talk about overkill!])  You're doing remarkably well to catch that in the joys and throes of new fatherhood! ;D

[And I confess, I had to check a dictionary to be sure that that adjective could also be properly used as a noun! :P]

For what?  That a PP rumor might confirm your suspicions on who MC might be interviewing for their HC opening?

RC:  Congrats on the daughter!

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Because I have been posting so long and do consider our interactions a fun part of my ties to my college days (and because some of you guys are just generally good people...) I wanted to share my joy in the fact that I became a daddy Thursday night.  I am loving everything about it and am truly blessed that both my baby daughter and wife are doing so well.  We are back home today and my baby polar bear is fitting right in.

And in a funny twist of fate, I stopped at CVS to fill a couple prescriptions for my wife.  I was waiting on the  pharmacist to call my name and got to thinking about checking emails, uploading some baby pics, checking some fantasy stuff and wondering what I had missed in Post Patterns.  One of the pharmacy techs heard me say something about Ohio Northern when discussing Pharm Degrees and he says he's from Marietta.  We talked for about ten minutes.  He transferred into Etta to play baseball and was pretty knowlegable of the football program.  The whole time we talked I couldn't help but think to myself that this guy was pretty level-headed and a genuinely decent individual.  It just proves they do exist down there.

RC,

Congratulations.  Though, I don't know how you feel since I don't have any of my own....though my buddies make sure to include me in their " i'm going to buy a shotgun for when she turns 15" tales.

Congrats...and not bad for a C-J grad.

Maybe if enough whiners like you who can't tolerate an outside-the-box opinion complain to him enough. It's well documented that we are not each other's favorite person, so I wouldn't bet against it at some point.

I love that after all these attacks and accusations that I am intolerant of other opinions, NO ONE has cogently supported a single one of the statements that disagrees with me. NONE. Not a one. Zip. Zero. Nada. Keine. You get the idea.

Oh trust me, little girl.  Its not because of whining.  Pat will see you for what you are...a troll.  This is straight from the Terms of Service, available on the website:

Similar offenses involve "rolling the board" -- posting nonsense or an identical or similar message many times on one board -- or being a "troll" -- making inflammatory posts simply to incite an argument.

For suggesting that my suggestive suggestion was ridiculous and giving me a hard time in general thereafter.

Yes I am well aware that it's not a dictionary-defined word. But I thought the intended meaning was obvious enough. Perhaps I gave too much credit. Besides, if Merriam-Webster is calling w00t a word now, I figure I can start making up just about anything and calling it a word.

What I used is a lot less clunky than what I would have needed to say were I using the Queen's English. "...against the single-minded people who are also intolerant." "...against the intolerant, single-minded people."

So yes, technically you are correct, it's not a word. However, did anyone really misunderstand what I said? And is that not the point of words?
