Glad to see the "we choose to suck in athletics" Division III sub-division proposal didn't go anywhere.  ;)

A potential match-up with Wooster, though a nice short road trip, would do nothing for the Raiders.  Why do we want to open the season with another Marietta?
I was thinking the same thing when Wooster had to play MUC in hoops last season... ;)

Mount has a basketball team?  Really?  Hmmm, learn something new every day.

The Rep is reporting today that Jason Hall will be announced as Massillon's next head coach.

Here's a link to an article in today's Rep.  Good for him if/when this becomes official...

Ric or anyone who has knowledge...

Where has Hall been since he graduated from MUC?

Just curious.  I've heard a lot about former opponents and teammates in the coaching ranks through the years and know where a lot of them are or were, but I must admit I have no idea where Hall's career has taken him up to this point.

By the way, if Fletcher was the #1 best LB I played against, Hall was 1a.  I know I have said that before, but it really is true.  If he were faster, I think he would have had a pro career too.  He could read and diagnose a play faster than anyone I ever played against, he was always in great position, and he could really bring the wood.

I believe he was an assistant at Indian Valley followed by Head Coaching jobs at Southeast, Brush and Nordonia.  Some one please correct me if I'm off base...

The article you posted said he was an assistant at Indian Valley, Southeast and Brush and was a HC at Nordonia so no correction needed Count!  :)

Thanks guys,

Saw the link after I posted last night.

Strange, West Branch has opened with Southeast every year since I was in HS, and, of course, my Dad is still there, but I had no idea Jason was the HC there.  I guess that it never occurred to my Dad that Hall was my age and I had played against him at Cap, so he never mentioned it.

What's the over & under on Hall's tenure at Massillon?

I'd say three years.  And I think I'd take the under.

With a young family he's likely to stay in high school ball and likely to stick 5-7 years.

My prediction doesn't have anything to do with what I think of his coaching ability (I have no idea of his coaching ability, it must be good or he wouldn't have gotten the job), nor does it have to do with any family considerations.

It is purely based on the fact that, if I were in his shoes, I'm not sure I could deal with the crap from Massillon for more than a couple of years.

yikes, RC.

Yikes what?  You imply that I am saying Filkovski won't last at MC.  I didn't imply anything.  You inferred it.  I was going to stay out of this until you went and drew your own conclusions...

Who do I sound like?   :D
