Someone questioned why you would take Tebow out of the the game.

Because IT'S THE SPRING GAME!

Sheesh.

Sheesh.

No, they were talking about last season.  Tebow played for the Blue Team the entire spring game with 103 degree fever (or so they said).  The #2 QB played for the White team.

I understand that it was the spring game Pat.

I am aware you understand. I was not sure if the commentators you cited understood. :)

Sorry,  I didn't get any sleep last night and was a bit grumpy this morning.  ;)

Herbstreit probably understood, but I doubt Corso did.

But he does have to bear up under a lot of pressure.

I'm sure 85k and a bogus desk job will take some of the pressure off. Anyway we know how this works. They love him for a year, tolerate him for a year and start putting flaming bags of poop on his porch the third. And that's if he wins. ;D

Jason Hall will also get some perks to go along with that paycheck. Tiger head  coaches also get the use of a leased vehicle paid for by the school district. In the past, other coaches also got mortgage point buy downs if they chose to move into the city. I wish I had that! His hardest job will be finding opponents for The Tigers. He will be on the phone more than one of those call centers that annoy everybody around supper time. Hes a tough guy to take on the challenge at 32 years old. Good luck to him.

Despite my sarcasim, I wish Jason Hall nothing but the best in Tiger Town. ;)

Is it possible to root for the coach, but against the town ???
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I've often found myself rooting for an 'enemy' player to do well (just not quite well enough to win!).  I'm not quite sure how that could work for the coach! ???

From the Repository:

Hall has no college aspirations. He has a plan, although he wouldn't share specifics, for the youth football program. He is bringing in a trusted coach and friend to run the youth program, all the way down to the flag football kids. He wants every kid in Massillon to grow up running the same system.

He's figured out the "Mogadore System"

He's figured out the "Mogadore System"

and the West Branch system, at least when I was growing up.  It began in about the mid 80's and sustained success all the way through the late 90's, until Laut retired.  I ran some of the more basic plays and the same defense that we ran in HS starting in Flag football in 4th grade.

It went away for a few years when Saulnier was the HC, but has been brought back since Altenhof took over.

Regardless, look at the results of both Mogadore and West Branch in the last couple of decades.  They are two of the mroe successful programs in that area for a reason, and it isn't all because of quality of athletes...

Back further, in the early 1970s, Gerry Faust had former players running similar programs (Tomahawks football (?)) in the intermediate feeders to Archbishop Moeller.  Only recall because a friend was one of those coaches before his day job moved him to Detroit metro in 1978.

Mt. Fans,

I heard through the "Grapevine" that the guy with massive arms, who played MLB for Mount the past two years, was getting a look from the pro's. Does anyone know if he did well or not?

pradierguy

I heard Tony DeRiggi, the MLB in question performed really well at the Mount Union Pro Day. That is all I know.
