"What should we do today Reginald?"

"I don't know Margaret.  Dear old MUC isn't playing today because they lost last week"

"It is a shame for those poor boys. I wish there was something we could have done."

"True, very true. More tea Margaret"

"Yes thank you Reginald"

And for the students another full drawer of clean undies!
Somone has got to put at least one of these lines in their sig.  I think I'll lay claim to the clean undies.

Now, in my attempt to finish the subject, I'll say to be glad that Margaret and Reginald even show up.  I can't say how it was elsewhere, but us sorry souls who played in War Memorial were oftentimes lucky to have more than our parents and girlfriends in the stands.

To be perfectly honest, I never cared how noisy a crowd was; I just cared that they were there.  I was so focused on what I was doing that I could never hear the crowd anyway.  It bothers me that our players today feel like they have to have the crowd to get the job done.  Just get the job done and forget about the crowd.

Now, let's get a real football discussion :)  What are the thoughts on Northern still being absent in the AFCA poll?  What does everyone expect to see this weekend?  Before last weekend, I was concerned about the confrontation with Cap.  The D seemed incredibly weak after losing Trusnik #1.  It now appears as though they've recovered so I'm actually looking forward to the game.

Anyone know if they keep a wireless connection available at Dial-Roberson?  I'm half tempted to listen to BW get shellacked while enjoying ONU's next win  8)

I would imagine that ONU isn't in the coaches' poll because of the probation.  I remember when Alabama was on probation a few years back and the coaches weren't allowed to vote for them for that reason.  I would guess the same is true in this case.

As far as this weekend goes, I'm looking forward to watching Mount destroy BW. I feel sorry for the Yellow Jackets cuz they really don't stand a chance.  Mount is going to be angry and I overheard some football players talking saying they're hitting harder in practice and that they'll never let a loss happen again. It is going to be brutal this Saturday in Alliance.
The impossible CAN happen and eventually it WILL happen.

Even if the Bears get into the playoffs and make a run, you won't see them in the AFCA poll.  They were dropped as a statement regarding their NCAA sanctions, not because they lost to JCU.

I thought I had remembered seeing them in the poll after the JCU loss but in the received votes section.  It's not like the polls really mean anything; sometimes they do give you the warm and fuzzies though........

The AFCA removed ONU from its previous ranking of 8 in the poll in its Sep. 27 poll (after they defeated Muskingum 34-10 and a full week before the loss to JCU.)

The announcements of the NCAA findings came out on Sep. 21 on onusports.com so the Sep. 27 poll was the first chance the AFCA had to drop ONU out.  It was definitely a response to the NCAA findings and not the JCU game.

JCU and CAP have been getting votes most weeks but since being dropped ONU hasn't received a single vote.

Congrats to the Polar Bear O-Line for being named to D3football.com's team of the week.  I hadn't realized (although I should have) that all five starters are seniors.  I knew they had been playing together for a long time though.

Walton, Bockey, Schwartz, Thomas and Russell, congrats to all you big boys.

Also on the TOTW was Sr. Rusty Midlam for his three picks.  7 on the season and 20 in his career.  He needs one more to share the all-time OAC INT mark.

Regional rankings are listed on NCAA.org.  For North Reg the top 5 are: North Central, Wabash, ONU, MUC and Augie.   Ott and Cap are the last 2 listed ranked teams.

Well, I've heard all the comments about old people and the lack of noise at Mount Games and I've decided to take some action. My son and I will be at the BW-Mt game. Our first trip back together since Raider66 died. I was in Kent for a meeting last Saturday when I heard the Raiders were losing and I drove to Alliance in that lousey weather only to pull in during the closing minutes. I guess I wanted to witness the end of a run in which my brother had attended the vast majority of the games. Nobody ever accused Dick or I of sitting on our hands so I'll be back on the South Wall Saturday. Me and my big mouth. Maybe I'll make a few passes in front of the covered stands and try to get them fired up.  8)

MUC boys...you should hear the Occidental clowns from the SCIAC whining about how they aren't ranked above you...I think the LA smog is getting to them.  I was surprised to see you not ranked #2 in the regional rankings though...

Thanks for the Elliott votes on the Heisman deal!

downtown48,

Regional Rankings don't mean much now. MTU just needs to win out and get in the playoffs. Hopefully we can still get on a roll and meet you in Salem in December.

Exactly...just getting to the dance is all that matters.  I would imagine you've got nothing to worry about.  I would love to see the all purple match up!  :o

In the past 10 years Mount's last game has been a Stagg win, or a loss that has ended their season.  The players and fans had to wait until next year to see if the team was going to make improvements.  The problem was you loss all the sr's  and the disappoint to correct the errors on the field had to be postponed.  This is the first time that Mount with this  loss has not ended their season.  I am very interested to see what they will be like the rest of the way.  As LK said in the Cleveland P.D. " There is  alot of football to still be played."  The other teams that loss and could not go back the next week and play.  This team does.  I for one am excited to see the RAIDER'S this weekend.

At appears to have translated by one of those cheap computer translation softwares or some rare east coast lingo. Sounds like Tito Francona

Downtown - I'd love to see an all purple Stagg, but I don't care whether it's Linfield or Whitewater ::)

Talked to the guy holding the down marker at the ONU game.He said Roinson did not score before the half. He was out of bounds at the four and did not get in on any try after that.Lets hope ONU gets in the playoffs.Meantime,it's BW Week,a very bitter rival we still owe bigtime.Bunch of hotdogs.Even their colors are hot dog brown and yellow mustard.
