reality check

I don't know if it's something to do with my home internet provider or maybe they just unplug the internet in the whole of Canada late every evening.  Nonetheless, Jamal had a solid first preseason contest for the Argos against the Montreal Allouettes (sp? does it really matter???)  He had 5 carries for 29 yards (5.9 avg) which led all RB's and chipped in with a couple catches and a tackle.

There was a feature on the Argonauts season outlook available on cfl.ca earlier in the day and Jamal is talked about by his head coach and even gets a short interview regarding his prospects for the upcoming season.  I'd like to link it but since they roll the world wide web up every night in the land up north, I can't.  I do think the coach said something to the effect of Jamal being expected to make the final roster or they wouldn't have traded for him so I hope I heard correctly.

We will really miss Mr. Russert's analysis this fall.

Thats the big thing....here, theaprof.  I think he'd have been great with the Presidential Candidates and we could have learned alot more about each.  Hopefully NBC has a suitable replacement.

RIP, Mr Russert.

kirasdad,

Yeah, the difference between "Father of the Year" candidacy and felony child abuse is timing! ;)

You need to grasp the difference between 'picky' and 'masochistic'! ;D

That is why Papa KS had one of these when I was a youngin.

I don't think that will make it through the Florimar Grass in my front yard.  LOL

For all you golfers...

What a crazy (and great) US Open.  I have been near completely unproductive today as I tried to watch the playoff on line.  In my short life, that has to be the best golf tournament I have ever seen.

SaintsFAN

rocco played brilliantly, JK.  At this point with Woods playing Army golf (left-right), having a bum knee and still coming up with the win (even if it took 91 holes), you have to wonder if this is a mental defeat for the rest of the PGA.

But I digress, back to football.

Whats the outlook for John Carroll this year?  Thomas More hosts JCU in the season opener.

My guess, based on a quick look at what they lose and what they return seems that it should be status quo for JCU this year.  I'm guessing anywhere from 3-5 in the conference.  I think my summertime OAC prediction is this:

1) MUC- lose quite a bit, but they just always reload.  Plus, they still have Kmic.
2) ONU- Might finally break through???
3) CAP- Assman should be healthy, lots of experience at the O skill positions back.  Lose a lot of really good DB's.  Then there is the new coaching staff.  We'll see how they adjust, but you would think it might knock them down a peg or two.
4) JCU
5) BW
6) OTT- but they keep showing promise and then falling short of expectations.  Of course, I could personally care less, but it is getting annoying...
7) HEI- and climbing...
8 ) WIL
9) MAR
10) MUSK

SaintsFAN

Thanks, JK.

Looks like they are a level above Musky was when TMC played them in 2000 and 2001.....which means it will be a dogfight for us littleguys.

I have two teams that I'm really pulling for this year in the OAC....should be an interesting year for them.  I'm looking for Coach Paul and the PBears to at least challenge for a Pool C bid....and for Coach Hallett to continue the work he did last season with a team thats learning how to win.
