Sometimes Sports Illustrated regionalizes its stories and not every story goes to every reader.

Ah, thanks Pat.

The S.I. issue with the Mount/ ONU story is in their Oct.31 issue; World Series is on the front.  The NBA preview was the October 24th issue and may not hit the newsstands until tomorrow.

For those worried about the athletic budget buying scoreboards at Mount Union, you should know that the boards are purchased with money from sponsors who pay a fee for an advertisement.
This is a common practice in high school with the soft drink companies paying the freight.  In fact, in my past life Coke paid my school district 25 thousand dollars to use their products for 10 years.  We used that money for the athletic department.  btw, a new scoreboard came additionally with the 25K.

ONU  you won, you dewerved to win, any true Mount fan will admit that...did it hurt..yes, but I think it will help us down the road with a team probably headed into the playoffs which is not a real good MUC team.  I didn't think that we could win the Stagg with our last QB, even though he was a great athlete.  I feel the same way this year.  Jorris is capable playing to the best ability, but the ONU game could shake him for the rest of the season.
I don't believe he will ever have another JCU performance, although I hope he does.
But with this team, I feel the loss may get them over the hump and provide much need rededication, hard work, and resolve....
The swagger was slapped out of us by the Bears...the next few weeks will be the test of whether the Raiders can earn it back.
I am really upset because I am spoiled about not having to travel in the playoffs. It looks like a few road trips are coming...

raiderpa:
Yes, corporate funding for scoreboards has been a saver for many schools.  Alma College had a deal with Pepsi; Olivet College has corporate funding for their new electronic scoreboard at their new stadium complex.  As you point out, for many of the DIII schools, that is perhaps the only way they'd be able to obtain a scoreboard with the the more updated and technical "gadgettry" ;)

I want to take a minute and apologize for misrepresenting the history of lacrosse at Mount Union. It appears the remark I made about the sport being disbanded by the Dean was totally untrue, and for that I am sorry. Sometimes the tales we tell just get bigger and bigger over the years till it is hard to tell fact from fiction. It might also have been helped by the general haze of Pabst Blue Ribbon that hung over those years. Apparently if you remember the sixties correctly, you wern't there. Truely sorry that I passed along any false information. :'(

Apparently all those barroom memories about being a jet pilot, CIA agent and Mother Theresa's little brother aren't true either.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

raiderpa-- Unfortunately...no, MUC will not be tested the next few weeks. Maybe in three weeks? untill then NO. This is also what happened 2 weeks prior to the ONU game. It was also a time when I posted about my fears of Mount going into a lull,  having played easier games prior to the Bears.  I am not trying to make light of the well deserved victory. I just hope two more role overs do not put us in the same situation.   Again, this comment in no way should be construed as disrespect to a Great ONU Team!  ;D

Hey Toph, Pat's scoreboard lists no webcast for the JCU game. True or False. That was supposed to be my trick or treat entertainment.

70'sraider:
I went to JCU.edu and there is no webcast scheduled for their football game today.

Looking at ONU.edu to fill in idle time this morning. Noticed they had approx 90 football frosh and that team is 3-4, having lost twice to Alma, and once to Ott and OH Wesleyan. The thing that surprised me is they beat Wooster by one. My surprise isn't that they won by one (that would best be described as shock), its that I've been told this same Wooster has been scheduled to play Mount's frosh this year and several others and cancelled every time because their squad was too small.

reality check

JCU/OTT should be on the web tonight starting at 6 pm.  Someone screwed up (probably Toph  ;D) and mistyped that the game was on 10/22 but if you click the link below the game is shown on the schedule.

RC-
Check the schedule on the radio station's website.  That's the one I submitted. ;)  Except I spelled Heidelberg correctly.  I don't know who edited that!
Seventies-  Hope you enjoy the broadcast.

CAP field goal attempt from 42 hits the UPRIGHT (I only emphasize "upright" because the radio crew doesn't know what it's called.
