The biggest hurdle come Saturday is remembering the mic will be live on the net during commercials.  Which means no more pointing out the co-eds during the breaks >:(

I'm sure you guys will find a way... hand signals, maybe??

What's so wrong about telling the listeners what the scenery is like?  Aren't you supposed to be helping us understand the full experience of being there live?

That's the job of the color man....painting a picture in the minds of listeners so that they can envision the scene. Mention the pretty coeds and perhaps attendance at the games will get a rise. The wife should understand.

If I spent time on air talking about the young co-eds, I would definitely be a color man after I got home.

The back & blue kind.

Here's your last reminder to post your picks.

So far we've had a very good turn out as there are 30+ participants.  Based on the responses so far:

the Pick-Em of the Week is Adrian (54%) vs. Capital (46%)

the Lock of the Week is Otterbein (83%) vs. Bethany (17%)

Any Alliance guys have any suggestions for a breakfast/lunch eatery for before the game tomorrow?  Kid friendly as well.  Thanks!

Try the college food service in the Hoover-Price Campus Center just north of the stadium.  They put on a great pre-game brunch, and you will be welcome.

I'll second the vote for the campus brunch.  Tons of good food at a good price and very "opponent friendly".

Second choice would be Grinders.  http://www.grinders.net/

In addition to the Campus Center and Grinders...

The College Inn is right on State Street (Rte 62) just in front of the indoor track.  It's in an older house, so there isn't a lot of room, but the food is good.  It's walking distance from the stadium, where Grinders is not.

Also reccommend Doug's '57 Diner, also on State Street.  Food is not as good as the other two places, but it also is in walking distance of the stadium (right next door to the legendary Naborhood Tavern, where you might catch a few ex-raiders if you are lucky).

Heggy's would be OK too.  It's also right on State Street.  It's a candy factory, but they serve food (very greasy food).  If you go there, get your french fries with butter.

Texas Roadhouse and Applebees are about the only two sit down chains and all the rest is fast food.  It's been a while since I was in the area, but that is all I can think of.

Forgot about Don Pancho's (mexican, of course)... is that place still open?  Saw Pancho died a little while ago...

Good luck to all OAC teams in their openers tomorrow.  We feel we are the best conference in the country, but with a 10 team league, this is really our only chance to it to those outsiders.

Tomorrow at 10am mountain time I will turn on the TV to ESPN to catch the Buckeyes.  At 11:30 MST I will mute the TV and tune in to my Crusaders on the computer.  I figure the Ohio St.- Ohio game should be just about over by then.  ;D

After that I will watch whatever game is on TV, including the PAC-10 games which are on early evening here as opposed to late night there.  There are SOME positives to being a geographic bachelor!

The one game I really have no interest in is Texas playing here in El Paso against UTEP (the first time ever that the Longhorns have come here).  The line on that game was 27 the last I saw.  With UTEP losing to Buffalo last week, Texas may cover that by halftime.  :D

Nice write up about the upcoming SJF/MUC game...
Thanks.
I hope the Raiders don't read this before the game, "The Purple Raiders are to Division III football what Tiger Woods is to golf."   ::)
