Are female students still referred to as "co-eds?"  Just curious.  Current students or recent grads, please advise.

Mr Mom, you're going to hear communication between me and the radio board operator about commercial breaks, etc, it is what it is and that won't change.  We know you would hear us during the breaks and nothing was said that we didn't want said. What you heard is what you're going to get. Much like a network broadcast picked up on satellite.

I noticed SJF had a baseball bat on the sidelines...were they confused? Or were they going to use it to bang on a drum instead of swiping a drumstick?

If Nate had gone over 200 yards, they probably intended to go Nancy Kerrigan on him.

He now has a grand total of 801 yards in three games against SJF.

Um, Nate did go over 200 yards he had 231 Yards.

Ric -- no probs with what we pick up.  [or are supposed to pick up]

My son and I were listening in, and we found it both fascinating and illuminating.  It's one thing to listen to a broadcast, but another to hear what goes on in the background to make it happen.  To hear how the creature has to adapt, to improvise.  As the announcers try to get their statistics correct, to plan for the next segment.  My sports-nut 12-year-old was in heaven.  He thought he was on "the inside".

It might have been because of the sportcasters, or it might have been because the game wasn't in the books by the second quarter, but I really enjoyed today's broadcast.

And that will be the last attaboy you'll get from me -- don't need your head to get any bigger!   ;D

Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Congrats Coach Mike and the Student Princes. Back to back Season openers. Think Mike has them on the build.

On second thought - you're right. Nobody cares.

The Raiders sounded good on the broadcast. The kicking game could use a little work - but it was the first game.

OAC goes 7-2 in week one.  Way to go fellas!!!

Average score: OAC 34  OPP 17

Heidelberg scores the most at 62 points.  Heidelberg!!!  It's because they unveiled the new Student Prince last night.

Who wouldn't be intimidated???

BW gives up the most at 42.  (Insert your favorite BW joke here or just roll with: What's brown and yellow, can be found in a bowl and stinks?)

Good first week OAC.  Now the pressure's on my Polar Bears for OAC victory number 8!

Good game overall for the Purple Raiders. Gotta love Nate and Cecil. Boy it is fun to watch them.

I want to give a shout out to Darrell Ely... what an interception that was in the end zone!!!!!

Still curious as to the baseball bat, maybe a SJF insider can help us out on that one.

Chapter 1 is complete. Onto Chapter 2 of this 15 Chapter Rollercoaster Ride known as MUC Football!!!!!

The weather forecast hurt the viewing.  Both from a pure numbers standpoint as well as the "magnitude" of those in attendance.  Hopefully the night game vs. ONU will be better.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I had to check who the puppies beat.  In OT no less:
Gallaudet University
For those who didn't know and this is from their website:
Gallaudet is the world leader in liberal education and career development for deaf and hard-of-hearing undergraduate students.
(I can comment because I'm about deaf in one ear.  I can speak about my own kind.)

How does their center know when to snap?  Does QB give hand taps on his behind?  How does the line know when the play starts?  I'm just curious as a fellow deaf guy.

Some credit Gallaudet for creating the huddle because opponents were stealing their hand signs.  Also they once used a bass drum for the snap cadence.  Now they use a hand signal or a touch on the center's leg to call for the snap. Players watch for ball movement to start plays rather than await the vibration from the drum.

They gave CWRU a heck of a game last year.

Thanks.  More power to them!  Amazing.
