I thought they had a decent chance to be competitive with a healthy Wells, with a 10-20% chance at actually winning.  But without Beanie carrying the ball 30+ times, they have zero chance.

It really pains me to think this way, but I think it's going to get ugly.

USC 38
OSU 13

As a result, we've cancelled our little party for Saturday night.  No sense having multiple people around watching each other cry over the Bucks getting drilled on national TV. >:(

You mean kind of like the last couple of times they got drilled on national TV (Florida, LSU)?......I'm hoping that Woody shows up for the pregame talk and they play the game of their lives.....

After OSU's losses in two championship games by not so close scores, no one gets too concerned when playing the sweater vest.  Brutus takes the Trojan sword deep this time.

Oh you of little faith!   :-\

The defense is going to play the game of their lives, and Pryor has his "coming out party".  Bucks score with one minute to go to win a thriller......you heard it here first.

On another note.......the North Canton Southwest A Team has a thriller today vs. Glenoak.  The rain may force me to abandon our wide open, throwing style.  I hope Jr. is ready to carry the ball about 25 times today.

Go ONU.......kick some North Central tail!

man i hope you're right on that call, would love nothing more than a thriller in SoCal! Neighbor has his Brutus Blowup in the front yard again, hmmm that's a bad omen from the past few years, might go pull it up and say that IKE came by early!

Now what am i gonna do with all this bean dip for the party?  ;D

Hopes and prayers are with all those in Texas that won't have power or worse yet a home to watch a game from this saturday.  :-[  praying for the best. Anyone know which D3 schools there will or are being effected? H-S? MHB? etc.

Bushman,
Why would we want to ask Wooster to come for a game? They are usually on the JV schedule but find some excuse for not showing up. They only want to come here when they think they have an opportunity to challenge us, so it may be some time before we see them. I do believe that LK would have to do the calling for scheduling a game with anyone though. Have you ever heard of anyone being turned away if they want to play MUC? I would be curious to know just how many phone calls he receives, especially for the opening game of the season. This is just my observation though and today you could say I'm all wet, like I will be in the rain tomorrow, watching the JV squad take on the JCU squad.

Man it's normal when I predict bad things for OSU since I didn't grow up here, but when HSCoach does. Nellie bar the door!! (thanks to Keith Jackson for the quote)

Good luck against Glenoak Sidekick. I'm taking 4 Mogadore teams against Cuyahoga Falls. Won't put too much ice in the water coolers today. Towels. towels, towels, towels

BTW The D3football spell checker suggests I change Mogadore to Mogadishu, scary.

seadog  some years ago coach mike spoke at the hall of fame luncheon.  He made the comment that he would not play Mt. because what good would it do to get his butt kicked.  I am a firm believer in the philosophy that in order to be the best you have to play the best.  ask whitewater, If wooster wants to improve their football program here we are for them to learn.  I guess it is hard to swallow  that wooster won't play Mt. anymore based on this coach's reasoning.  Wooster and Mt. had some good games in the past.  Besides I like their band.  Just 40 minutes away down rt 30.  Maybe we will see them in the playoffs.

Skunk maybe right, the only hope is to let Pryer play the whole game.  USC won't have prepared for what this kid could do.

Bushman, I could not agree with you more, on disagreeing with a poor coaching philosophy. If you never face a good team, you will probably not beat a good team, regularly anyway. Learning to do that what needs to be done and how to go about it, is the real key to learning how to win. Stranger things have happened, so who really knows, we just might see them in the playoffs? The band is impressive, especially when they take the field through the uprights and this is not saying that Mt. does not have a good band. I am not really a band prson, however I enjoy watching the kids perform on Saturdays.

Here's the link to the story in the Rep about his speech:

"I'll tell you what I've told Larry (Kehres) to his face. Playing you Week 13 would be just fine. We don't need to play you Week 1."

I think it would be great to renew that series.  Unfortunately, there's only 1 chance a year to play.  Well, I guess TECHNICALLY 2 chances...but the 2nd chance is the COW making the playoffs.

Dr. Acula

Does anyone know if the ONU game is on the radio?  I'm stuck in the office and was hoping to catch the game on the interwebs this afternoon if I could.

Mount fans should be happy Wooster doesn't have coach with nads to play Mount.  If Woo did, they might get competitive for area football talent again.  We don't need that.  Let's just root for Scots band.  How's their band camp?  Anything like the one in American Pie?  :o

As much as I'd like to have openers against teams in within a short drive, playing and beating the crap out of Wooster in week 1 would do nothing for Mount.  Why would we want to play another Muskingum or Marietta?

I'm all for playing good team like SJF and WWW to focus the team in the pre-season.

My idea of a good local opener would be Witt or Wabash.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Wow...sounds like the rain is causing some issues at NCC.  ONU fumbled their first play, but the D held 3 times from the 2 and forced a failed FG attempt.  Still no score and the offenses are understandably sluggish.
