reality check

If Heller is gone, he's cost himself a year of eligibility in moving after playing a game this season.  I think that means the front page survey asking who would be the career leading rusher at the end of their career just got a little bit easier.

If Heller doesn't want to waste a lot of money on wardrobe changes, he can recycle a lot of that burnt orange and find himself in Ada.  I'm sure we'd find a spot for the kid.

Did anyone watch the BW/JCU game?  Those all yellow unis the Jackets were sporting gave me a headache for the rest of the weekend.

Yea i was at the game...I still dont know whether i like the new uni's or not...im happy they are at least trying something new, but dont know if that was the correct answer.  On a brighter note, i loved the new field turf and new lighting they had.  The stadium looked 100% better than last year.

It does say a lot but it's not the only place I've seen a joint postgame.

Isn't that stuff illegal?

I heard Cheech and Chong are getting back together.  Maybe they're going into coaching.  Could be a good recruiting tool.  Unless things have changed at DIII drug tests don't begin until the playoffs, so I doubt that would be much of a concern.

The easiest way out of jury duty is to do what I did while living in Miami. The attorney asked if I would have any bias against his client and I replied: "well other than the fact that police arrest guilty people, not innocent bystanders - no I would not have a bias".

I was not called.

In the games where Kmic failed to gain 100 yards or more, how soon was he jerked by LK because the rout was already on? Remember all those early exits last year? If he played the whole game and was still under 100, then the D was stout and should be proud. If he had 3 TDs but only 50 yards because of field position and and early curtain call....well, thats different! Early exits are a relative stat too. He may even lead the nation in that category also.  Any team that stopped Kmic all game long has my admiration. If LK had no mercy last year...then Kmic wuold have been the Gagliardi winner. IMHO. As long as Kmic kicks no puppies....hes got a good shot this year. So does Micheli.

Good thing they don't face Hiram! ;D

(Though at 2-0, the 'puppy' jokes have greatly diminished.)
Watch out! The Mighty Terriers are headed into the playoffs and will win it all! Final Score Hiram 38 - Mount 14.

Seriously, as a Hiram alum I think they are doing great and Trevor (the QB) is a great kid (I had him in a class last year) - but it is WAAAY EARLY! Let's see if they can continue.

That's pretty much what I've done too.  Though not nearly as direct as your statement was.  ;)

It's amazing that outward support of the police will get you excused from the jury in a hurry.   I've been called as a prospective juror 5 times and have been dismissed for openly supporting the police 4 times.

The one time I didn't get dismissed was a real shocker as I knew the arresting officer, even coached bantam football with him, and thought I didn't need to go into my usual "pro-cop" stance since I knew the guy.  Nope, I was the first one selected for the DUI trial.  At least it only lasted a couple hours before we rung the kid up! ;D

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

That kid should sue his attorney for malpractice! ;)

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

The case I am assigned to is a civil case.  No police really involved except for officer at scene as witness.  I was really laying it on for the Plaintiff's attorney, but in hindsight I think that made me attractive to the Defense attorneys (two different people being sued).  Next time I will keep my mouth shut and not make eye contact with anyone.

I suggest they do like LSU and wear white jerseys home and away.

Back at school today. Realizing jury duty and teaching are a lot alike. Stuffed in a small room with people you'd rather not be with. ;D
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Still at jury duty.  Plaintiff didn't even testify yesterday.  They read one response from her deposition.  Seems to me that if I were suing my former friend and a business that I would want to take the witness stand and voice my opinions...

One of the defense attorneys is hilarious.  He talks with a deep southern drawl and is a smart ass.  Keeps us awake.

reality check

ONU/OTT should be a good game in Ada this weekend.  It appears that OTT has something that their cross-town rivals have lacked on offense over the years: a legitimate triple threat offensive attack.  I'm not poking fun at CAP but I bet that Collins and staff would admit that they would have loved a little more consistent production at the tailback position in the Pentello years.  Of course, I don't think that this OTT team has anywhere near the same defense that the Crusaders have fielded in recent years either.

Cardinals RB Colton Coy was named OAC Offensive POW for his 4 TD performance, Jack Rafferty continues to impress at QB with his 7 to 1 TD to INT ratio and WR Ryan Rowley is averaging 7 catches  and 2 TD's per game on the young season.  ONU needs to re-discover the endzone themselves if they have any expectations for a run the rest of this OAC season.

ONU has never needed to win a game more badly than this one so I expect them to be up for the challenge but they desperately need to find some offensive firepower Saturday.  I'm still waiting on WR's Michael Busch and Ro Grigsby to do what I think they're capable of doing.  Meadows needs to be aggressive and sniff the endzone once again.

Go bears!

Outside of Colin O'Reily, you are right, and that was really only one year.  THere is a reason I had to go back to the 50's to find a RB when I was doing the Capital all-time team...there haven't been a lot of great RB's at Cap, and Rayshaun Gayles is really the only one in recent history to have more than one very good season.

And we all know that the only reason O'Reily was successful was because he started his career at ONU.   ;)
