Jr. High Internet class?  - Cool - I imagine the kids teach you some interesting shortcuts to downloading adult content  My former school had a class named Facilities where the kids picked up trash, painted, raked grass, etc.

We had that class when I was in Jr. High, it was called Dentention.  I may have attended quite a few times.

According to the NCAA Records office in Indy, Mount Union has the option to count Borchert's regular and post season statistics in a combined manner (like any modern day player) but they've chosen not to do that at this time.

Says who? Or are you talking about the school's own record book? (A school can pretty much keep its record book as it damn well pleases.)

I was assuming that OU#25 contacted the NCAA and posed that question to them...

As a proud Alum of Capital I am of course going to root for Capital.. Losing 5 times to Mount is not part of my favorite memories

I was part of some great teams at Cap and one that took Mount to the wire with a 34-31 loss..

Capital is going to have to play the entire game like it is the last minute... I do not think they have to play a flawless game to win, but the effort needs to be there...

Good luck to Capital and play hard

Statistics and records can be twisted or manipulated so many different ways.  Its tough to compare a player who rushes for rushes for 4,000 yards in a 40 game career to one who rushes for 6,000 in a 60 game career.  I had a player who only rushed for 863 yards and scored 19 touchdowns on the season but had only three second half carries all season because the games were out of hand.  His backup actually had more yards.  It's way too subjective and dependent on circumstances.

At least you only lost by 3 a couple of times.  I think when I played at Cap we lost by 3 touchdowns (or more) all four years.

BTW, good to have another OL in here.

Go for it Cap.  LK said on the radio he is aware of your fast defense and how good they are.  The Assman has also got his attention.   This should be a good one in A town this Sat.    God how I love games like this!  I hope Vince has been doing his homework.

It will be interesting to see how Assman handles his first game vs Mount.

Ronnie Smith is not listed on the 2 deep roster, any idea what his health status is?

Friends...

I called the NCAA office in Indianapolis and spoke with Jim Wright who is in the Statistic Services department.  Originally, I was interested in learning about how someone is nominated to the College Football HOF...because I don't believe anyone has ever accounted for more than 200 touchdowns in a career on any level during the history of college football.  I'm referring to former Mount QB Bill Borchert who I believe tallied something like 203 touchdowns (rushing & passing) during his career.  It's definately more than 200...I'm sure of that fact.  At the time Bill set those marks the NCAA did not count "Tournament Records"  toward career stats...and now they do.  Mount Union has chosen to keep them seperate as well...though they could determine to combine those if they want to (according to the NCAA)...but it would still not impact how the NCAA views Borchert's career body of work however...

My point with the NCAA was this...While wearing a Mount Union jersey Borchert  tallied more than 200 touchdowns...in real NCAA games...with real fans...real referees and real competition in games that really mattered.  Obviously they believe this to be correct because that's the way they tally records TODAY.  It's a shame that they won't recognize his complete body of work...because it was something spectacular.  With Jim Ballard getting in...I'm hopeful for Bill.  I have no connection to Bill...other than being a fan of the Mount Union program and all that they've accomplished in recent history.

OU#25....Around here, when we speak of," The Great Number 7 'we always pause a moment to reflect on a favorite moment of his greatness before we resume the conversation. I just thought of the John Carroll game his sophomore year.JCU came out fired up at home. There was a little trouble. Coach DeCarlo was being himself. Terrible weather.  The Great Number 7 ran the option right down the streaks throat. Lined up, told JCU the play, and ran it down their throat all day. A great moment in sport.

He actually told the D what play was coming?  That is hilarious!

I will be one of OTTS fans. They are having a great season on both sides of the ball. Look for them to make an impact in this years standings. Big game this week against BW, but I think they come through this on top. Except for the one kick off return at Heidelberg the D has given up only seven points per game and the first team has not even played a complete game. The rushing game is unbelievable and the passing game is among the top in effeciency. GO CARDS

I have watched  all four OTT games. The D is playing lights out, at Heidelberg they had 11 QB sacks, unbelievable. They will have to be prepared for BW since they have had trouble in the past with them, But in the same sentance I will say I have never seen them play this intense on both sides of the ball.
