UPDATE:

HCAC and SCAC (both MUC -14.5) are currently 6-0 for MUC.
OAC (-17.5) is at 14-2 MUC.
CCIW (-23.5) is at 6-1 MUC.
NCAC (-30.5) is at 6-4 MUC.

So far it looks like even mid-20s on the spread wouldn't do it!

I think the Raiders' mystique has reached the point that if pickers were asked to bet
on a taped-replay of the 2008 Stagg, hscoach would have to give UWW 17.5 points to even the picks! ;D

We need to plan a trip to Vegas.  Now.

Oops! :-[  Guess I need to be more careful with the punchlines after midnight. :P

I s'pose it's too late to say '2007 Stagg'.

Interesting note from the MTU Game Notes:

The game at Otterbein will be Mount Union's only game this season on real grass.

That natural grass info is indeed interesting. I've heard many players say that they actually prefer the new field turfs to natural grass too.

I have lurked on the D3 OAC board for several years since my son played at MUC.  I decided it was time to come out of the closet and start posting instead of lurking.

I live in central Ohio and graduated from OSU.  I've been a Purple Raider, Browns, and Buckeye fan forever.  I've been to scores of OAC and NCAC games over the years and D3 football is simply the best atmosphere you can have in college football.  The stadiums may be small, but the players and fans are passionate about their football.

With the big game at OTT this weekend and the limited tickets available, I drove to Westerville today to get my game tickets.  I was surprised to see a long line at the ticket office.  They said ticket sales had been constant since 11 AM.   I also checked out the seating for the game.  The away side bleachers are slightly larger than in years past since they rebuilt the stadium, but I doubt if you could get more than 300 fans in them if they were packed tight.  There were some portable bleachers being wheeled onto the track on the home side of the field, not sure if these were for the band or overflow seating for the fans.  My guess is a lot of people will be standing for the game.  The grass field looked in good shape for the game.

Stadium parking is also better than it used to be, but I would suggest arriving 3+ hours before kickoff if you want to tailgate.  My wife and I will be at the game tailgating early.  Hope to see some of you at the game and the forecast for light rain is wrong.

Welcome to the board and thanks for the heads-up.

All the stats for OTT/Mount are interesting and it appears that Mount has the edge in each category but that's not why I believe Mount will win. It's the other "categories" that will determine the outcome. In all my years of watching college football I've never seen teams so focused from week to week as those coached by LK. It doesn't matter if their opponent is 8-0 or 0-8. Mentally and emotionally they are totally prepared to play. It's an edge that's hard to beat.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

My buddy called up to Mount today to findout what time the bus was going to be arriving with fans front mount and the people up there told him that the trip had been cancelled because of a lack of interest. Hope none of you were depending on that as your way down here. He wanted to make sure that our tailgate was there before they arrive so we could welcome them  ;D. Looking forward to the game and just the atmosphere on Otterbein's campus. Haven't really had this type of excitement for a while (unless you count every other year when Capital makes the drive up). Hopefully the weather holds up. Heard there might be rain/snow early in the morning. Should make those "beverages" extra tasty.

Go CARDS!

seventiesraider.   sorry about your recovery.  your md did not use the latest technology.  I recently had a triple spinal fusion at the univerity of pittburgh.  they do not take any bone from the hip, but use some of the stenosis and mix it with protein to make the fusion material.  good luck.

And  I'm really paying for it now. I spent the last ten hours in ER when the muscle in my leg pulled away part of my pelvis near where they harvested the bone. At least I now know what 10 is on the pain scale and I  got an ambulance ride!!!! And 2-3 more weeks off work, on my back.

And all I wanted to do all week is make it to our high school playoff game Friday night. No trip to Westerville either. Now that is 10 on the pain scale.

seventies:
I, too, am sorry to hear about your medical situation post-surgery temporary set-back.  As Pat mentioned, :( that indeed, is no fun.  For sure, the most painful part of many surgeries like yours and others when bone grafts are harvested from the pelvic ridge is exactly at that site, not the main surgery site.  While the "pelvis" bone graft donor site has been the "gold standard" for decades, as raidertrackman mentioned, most orthopedic surgeons (DO's and MD's) are using other options (either from the fusion sites with protein/plasma, or cadaver allograft bone and/or synthetic bone graft material) and avoiding the pelvic site because of the pain issue.

Anyway, I hope you feel better and get on the road to recovery soon.  Sorry that you will miss the big game this weekend.  I'll keep you in prayer as will your colleagues here on the OAC and other boards as well I'm sure.

All the best,
