I decided it was time to come out of the closet and start posting instead of lurking.

"Oh, why does everyone always come out to me?"  I feel like we need some sophomoric humor.

Seriously, welcome aboard.  As I'm sure you've noticed, Mount Union is desperately underrepresented on this board.   ;)

Do you think that I'll be able to get tickets Saturday if I arrive early in the morning?

Hope you start feeling better seventiesraider. I enjoy reading your posts here. With my spinal fusion they used material from a cadaver so  I got to avoid the suffering you're going through. Hang in there and try to focus down the road when the pain will be nothing but a memory.

My partner uses that same "it is what it is" expression all the time and it makes me crazy.  It sucks to have any surgery and the recovery and rehab is no fun.  Follow your docs orders and you will be up and around again before you know it.

On a different note, my Browns were miserable again last night.  The pass rush was inept and the db's couldn't cover if their lives depended on it.  Braylon Edwards must be coaching the db's on how to catch a pass, with at least 3 potential INT's dropped.  Their season is going backwards in a hurry.

You might try calling the OTT athletic office at (614) 823-3513 and ask how ticket sales were yesterday.  I know they don't have a will call like MUC does.  Their ticket office is open again today from 11A - 1P, not sure what time they open on Saturday.  For a normal OTT game, getting tickets wouldn't be a problem, but with both teams being 8-0 my guess is tickets are going fast.

Hang in there Seventies. At least you may have the best "SEAT" in the house. I am sure RIC will put you in the almost like being there mood and if you get the weather we are having tomorrow it may not be all that bad to be inside.
I know the feeling, last year I was three days removed from carotid artery surgery after a stroke when I joined some of my St Johns buds at a local bar to watch the Stagg. It nearly sent me to rehab! No jumping around uncontrolably with every Raider touchdown tomorrow please. Wishing youa speedy recovery. It is a bitch aging gracefully.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

I can't imagine that Ott is going to turn people away from this game.  They might as well keep taking money until the fire marshal steps in and stops them.  I'm sure some of the others on this board remember the JCU vs. Mount game a few years back that went to triple overtime.  JCU had the right idea.  By the end of the first quarter, there were fans standing 6 deep from the twenty yard lines around the back of the endzone on both ends of the stadium.
They should have practiced harder.

Capital did the same thing a few years ago for MUC game.

That's right, I forgot about that game.  I would hope Ott does the same.

Bill Borchert's record for fewest interceptions vs attempts will probably fall this season to Bobby Swallow of Washington and Jefferson and JK's West Branch High. If he completes the last 2 games and any playoff games without an int, the record will fall. Bobby's ratio is currently 1.6 compared to Bill's 1.7. Standing in the wings to replace Bobby next year is another West Branch product,  freshmen Steve McNeely.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Thanks.  And I think you meant, "I know they don't have will call like virtually every other college in the continental United States."

The ticket office opens at 10AM on Saturday, and I'll be in CBus tonight, so hopefully I'll be able to make it.

And no, I'm not bitter about potentially missing this game.

Seventies,

Sorry to hear about the setback.  Add me to the list of those wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the WB mention.  Bobby Swallow was a great QB in HS and continues to be so in College.  I had no idea Steve McNeely ended up at W&J.  There was some talk that he might end up someplace bigger for baseball.  WHen that didn't pan out, the last I heard was that he was "very interested in" BW.

A couple of bits of useless info.  Bobby Swallow wasn't the best QB in his family.  His older brother Ben led WBHS to the final four in '98 and is still listed as among the top QB's in a couple of stats in the OHSAA record book.

Steve McNeely was the first QB to start for three years at WBHS since Scott Woolf, later Mount Union's QB.

I may have missed it a few pages back, but does anyone know why Ott doesn't have a Will Call?  I don't think I have ever seen that before.
They should have practiced harder.

You didn't miss it......I don't think there's been a recent need for one.

I thought about that, but then I got to thinking about all the terrible football I have watched in my life and I still remember seeing Will Call booths outside the stadium.

I cannot believe that I am going to pass on seeing 2 undefeated teams knock heads for a conference title this weekend! But the thought of driving 2 hours to possibly walk up to some ticket window to see a sign on that window reading SOLD OUT makes me think its better to save the gas and frustration. >:(  What a sucky situation!  I bet the bus trip was not cancelled for the lack of interest at all. Who wants to gamble 50 bucks for a bus ride not knowing if you can even get in once you arrive? Even high schools send the opponents some tickets to sell locally! Now here is an issue to be dealt with in the future.  :(  Oh well, GO RAIDERS! KICK SOME OTTER A** FOR ME.
