If Cap wins they may end up in the top 6 in the region and in the top 15 in the country.  If the amount of teams had been expanded last year ONU gets into the playoffs.  Maybe I am being to optimistic but I think Cap gets in if they win.

Anyway...good luck Crusaders

First of all, we assuming Mount will win out. A safe but not sure bet.
If the OAC has 3 teams at 8-2 I'd love to see what the determining factor is for who goes. I'd think a conference with one 8-2 second place team would have a better chance of making the dance.

I have said this to you before and you optimistically overlook one fact.  ONU would have been in last year if the field was 32 in part because they were all alone in second place in the OAC at 8-2.  If CAP wins out, they finish 8-2 and most likely end up sitting in a three way tie for that spot.  My guess would be no one goes to avoid complaints of favoritism.

CAP would have wins over JCU and ONU, and would have losses to teams with a combined record of (most likely) 16-4.  ONU would have losses to teams with a combined record of (most likely) 16-4.  JCU would have losses to teams with a combined record of (most likely) 17-3.

Of course the biggest item at hand is whether or not CAP can win this weekend against John Carroll.  That is the primary concern for the Crudsader faithful.

I am all for the fun too. There were no peronsal attacks in any of my posts but not true Mr Y. I was only refering to an article I read and passed on, I wasn't the author. I certainly don't believe everything I read so if Mr Y didn't mean he was looking forward to a little banter about the game please don't say so. All in good fun.

Believe me I have a certain level of frustration with the use of some very skilled players on the Bucks squad, but he has a National Title to his credit at OSU and several at YSU. If you know anything about YSU it is amazing they get anyone to go there, let alone skilled players to make the kind of run he had there.

Hey we play who we draw. I believe Oklahoma State and Kansas State were highly regarded the years we played them but not so much now.

The NCAA takes 8 from each region and if Cap beats JCU they will be in the top 6 .......how could they get overlooked?

Okay, I'm going to repost, for at least the third time:

You can't justify taking one 8-2 team over two others.  Especially not when your team lost to Otterbein (who JCU beat by 26 and ONU beat by 28), beat ONU by 2 (who JCU beat by 25).  Face it, if Cap beats JCU, it's going to be that Otterbein loss that keeps them out of the playoffs.

The differences between Cap's POSSIBLE(notice I am saying POSSIBLE jsut thinking ahead of possible scenario's not counting chickens before they hatch)  8-2 and JCU and ONU's 8-2would be the head to head win's against ONU and JCU. Plus Capital would have finished with a 6 game win streak.

But none of the above matters if Capital doesn't win the Dido Bowl tomorrow.

ONU- Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I hope no team wants to play a New Years Day Bowl, especially since there are no college games being played that day!

Every year Michigan believes they can ruin the Buckeyes season because thats all they have to play for. Even after 3 of 4, they still find a way to muster enough guts to talk the talk and look foolish when they take a hike.

Only JCU has a chance to go to the playoffs.

OPB,

In any other year I would have thought two d3 losses couldnt get a team in, but with the play-offs expanding to 32 we are not real sure about what the committee is thinking or will do.  While I do think it is likely a two loss team will not get in, but we are not sure.  Only time will tell.

For those with the gumption or the data close at hand, how many 1 loss teams have been left out in the past few years?  If there is traditionally 3 or 4 that get left out with one loss then the chances of a 2 loss OAC team getting in is more difficult.

If Cap beats JCU, nobody but MUC goes to the playoffs from the OAC.  I agree that you cannot justify one 8-2 team over the other two.  Would I like to see two OAC teams in, yes.  I highly doubt it will happen if JCU loses to CAP.  Just my thoughts on the scenario.

The only way an 8-2 team makes it is if the NCAA runs out of 9-1 teams elsewhere in the nation to fill up all the Pool C slots.  If Cap wants a slim chance, then they better be hoping for North Central (8-0) to beat Augie (7-1) and all other such matchups these last 2 weeks.   The less 9-1 teams there are, the better Cap's chances get.

However if I was a betting man, I'd put the odds at 9 to 1 AGAINST Cap getting in with an 8-2 record.

Do you think the Crusaders wish they would have shown up against Otter? ;D

Ace,

I think with the schedule that lies ahead MUC is both a safe and sure bet.  I think it would take a catastrophic bus failure or something of the liek to keep MUC from winning against the two league doormats left.

Why don,t all you guys wait untill selection Sunday to see who is in and who is out. You guys don't have a CLUE who will be in or out. All your predictions won't mean a thing after that!!!!

So who is holding the "Mr Obvious" trophy?  Whoever it is, please Fed Ex it to 4505!
