Once again Mount Union approaches the playoffs with anticipation. I wonder what R-M will bring. ONU type cowbells, Otterbeins PA Announcer, the yodelers of JCU, blowhorns or something new. I'm sure Ric and Mark will show their broadcast abilities and overcome all adversity.

I thought there was some type of NCAA rule against bringing artificial noise-makers to a d3 playoff game?  Does anyone know for sure?

They got a rule for everything else including the number of cheerleaders.

Great.  A 6-4 team that shouldn't even be in the field (yeah, I know.... AQ) is coming to Alliance without their only offensive threat?   Great.  Sounds like Marietta is going to be a bigger test. >:(

I do hope he can play. He seems to be a large part of the reason the team is where it is at and this may be the only time he could play in post season. I believe he is only a junoir but the chances of RMC making it back to the playoffs next year ?

How about a string quartet as in "Titanic" We haven't seen that before, eh?

^  I like it.  Violins have to be better than yodeling and it ties nicely to the sinking RMC ship......
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Otterbein's PA announcer's name is Bob Kennedy who also is the voice of the Ohio State home football and basketball games. He does Otterbein games when there isn't a Bucks game. Not sure whats wrong with him

HScoach

He isn't the problem.  It's the fact that the PA system is so loud you could hear it back in Alliance.   It was really annoying.  Especially when you're trying to broadcast a game on the radio.

you don't really notice it when you're on the field i guess... but now that i think of it, my best friend from college did the OC games on the radio and he complained about that, too. It's weird because the PA system out there is really, really old. same speakers that they had on the old stadium

"No, there's no NCAA regulation about artificial noisemakers, except at NCAA-sponsored events (i.e. championships where they are banned)".

I've confirmed this in the Division III Football Championship guide (page24). As far as I can determine, artificial noisemakers are at the discretion of the hosting site for the event during the regular season. I also believe several conferences have banned them.

Sorry OldOtter. Nothing personal with Mr. Kennedy. I was unable to attend the OTT/MTU game and was trying to listen to the broadcast.

artificial noisemakers are banned at NCAA playoff contests, however, I have not seen it enforced....As far as Thundermom is concerned......I  think it is gentlemanly to give all mom's a pass...they just don't understand....ha

SJF Fan

Good luck in the East again.

I was hoping Fish would be seeing you again but it wasn't meant to be this season.

I hope Cortland or Ithaca can step up and give you guys a pretty good run.

Anyway, See you in September.

You think Kmic is upset he won't be facing SJF again?
