Too all the Raider faithful:
My 7 yr old daughter wants to go to the game this weekend. I explained to her it is 90 minutes each way, and that we are not leaving until the game is over - no matter how cold it gets. With the game at noon - what time is the buffet? Where is a good place to park (I still have my faculty parking pass...but that probably won't matter at this point) and how much are tickets? I know the site says $8 (what a great price!) but is that for all tickets? Also, what is a good arrival time that will allow me to not sit in traffic? Thanks and I look forward to comments.

Your daughter is a trooper!!!

$8 is the standard price for All Playoff Tickets I believe.  I think this is set by the NCAA
Shouldn't be too much trouble with traffic.  If you are going to eat at the Buffet, I would probably arrive 60 minutes prior to game time.
You can usually find parking in the lots around the Newer Dorms, West of Hoover-Price Campus Center.
I couldn't find the Buffet starting time on the website, but you can probably just call the campus and they can tell you.

desert raider - Traffic in and out of the MUC campus is not a reason for concern.  On weekends there is plenty of parking around the stadium area.  I would recommend calling today and reserving your tickets on the home side.  The cover provides some shelter, although it also provides shade if the sun comes out bright.  As for the buffet, the earlier the better.  It's open early and if you get there too near game time the good desserts are gone.

desertraider- Way to bring her into the fold at an early age!! ;D
They should have practiced harder.

Looks as though the weather should be cool and crisp, yet pleasant.  Without reading back too far or actually doing any research, how did R-M earn the ODAC automatic birth at 6-4?

reality check

Thursday on playoff week and the discussion is about dessert selection at the buffet.

I sure wish KMack came in here and talked a little smack for his squad.  I'd think he's contractually obligated to stir the pot for the sake of the website...

"Mount Union hasn't seen a playoff team missing it's biggest offensive weapon due to injury like Randolph Macon's before.  They better not overlook the dessert cart at the pregame buffet if they want to get to Salem eat any apple cobbler."

My 11 year son has been coming since he was three. My daughter quit when she was thirteen. Get there early enough for the buffet and the other stuff at the Campus Center. They are ususally doing face tattos for the kids and other kinds of give aways.I think the Campus Centrer adds to the experience for kids. Book Store is always a treat for my kids

Traffic and parking are not issues. I usually park at the Administration Building or on the street north of the Campus Center. Tickets are all 8 bucks and I can't imagine that attendance will be that great. If the is any chance the sun is coming out the open stands may be warmer, but then again if there is wind..... I can't say because I've been standing along the south wall for 9 years so my kids could play in the grass down there and then it just became a habit.

No postings for almost 12 hours?  Is this a playoff week?  Where are all the R-M fans?

If you think it is quiet on this side, take a look at their board.  It's like pulling teeth to get anyone to talk to you.

There is an East Region playoff  discussion on the East board  but since we're playing a South Region team they just assume we will win. RMC folks have taken offense at our cockiness and really seen to know they're screwed. KMack included.

Perhaps the selection at the dessert line provides the greatest question of the day?  I realize anything can happen on the field, but this week it doesn't seem likely.  (see if that gets a response).

RMC at 4-2, tied three other school to first in the ODAC, but won the battle of the head to head matchups. i quess there two ways to look at it, either there is a great deal of parity in the Old Dominion or the Old Dominion sucked this year. Sorry Pat and KMack.

Seventies- I went over there originally seeking conversation with them.  My first post I was asking about what RMC brought to the table and I said that I wasn't sure how close it would be.  Then, they insulted me for "not going out on a limb" so I came out with my 66-0 prediction and my karma was killed for it.  After that, they started complaining about my being cocky.  If you look at my first post, I was trying to avoid coming off as cocky and got drilled for it by an RMC poster.
They should have practiced harder.

New Tradition,

Are you from the Northern Illinois area?  I went to HS at DeKalb, HS.

Ah, you were a Barb?  I attended (and currently coach at) Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream.

Yes, my Dad coached at NIU in the early 80's and when my parents divorced my mom, sister and got stuck in DeKalb.

I would be interested in knowing your dad's name.  I coached at Bowling Green in the early 80's and still have bad memories of the bus ride to Dekalb.........several hours of nothing but corn fields.

I guess we'll find out Saturday if parity in the ODAC is based on supremacy or mediocrity.  I would like to see Mount challenged a bit more in the early rounds.  Winning a national semifinal 64-whatever doesn't prepare a team for tough games.

We can run home and watch the CRWU tape delay, at least those of us who could care less about the Ohio State game
