I was wondering--what was up with the clock in today's MUC game?  Guys would go out of bounds and then the refs would start the game clock as soon as the ball was set.  I understand that the play clock runs--but I thought out of bounds stopped the game clock until the next snap.

Am I wrong? Or is there a different rule in the playoffs?  Or did the refs just want to get home to watch the end of the OSU/UM game?
I could be wrong, but I thought there were occasions in the past when the refs let the clock continue to run during blow-outs if both coaches agree.

Did you notice this all during the game, or just the second half?
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

MUC got one more shoutout during the OSU game nothing the longest current Reg Season winning streak belonged to the Mount Union Purple Raiders! Not bad for two MUC shoutouts in one of the most watched games of the year

Hobart held a very good Lyco rushing game to 59 total rushing yards today and cranked out over 400 total yards against a very strong Lyco defense.

Sorry, I gotta argue with Lyco being a good rushing team, ranked 134Th and averaging 132 yards is a pretty below average rushing average for a playoff team. Good defense I'll give you, but hardly a good rushing team

Let the banter begin.

I noticed it about halfway through the second quarter.  Mount would have been ahead 28-0 at the most.

WOW...  Chad Rupp could probably run for Mayor of Franklin, IN.

Kid accounted for 8 TD's (7 pass).

My Saints started strong today... but NCC was too much.  44-17 in the 4th Quarter.

NCC/Franklin will be an offensive show, it appears.

reality check

7 out of 8 second half possessions ended in touchdowns for Franklin.  Not a good statistic.

Lots of fireworks though in Westerville.  1064 yards of combined total offense.  Over 860 yards in the air and 12 TD's between these teams.

Shorts left the game hopping on one foot.   Serious?     I saw half of one section occupied by RMC fans.  A good crowd?    RMC were the worst tacklers I have seen in a long time.    Kmic had a field day.   Mt's D bent but did not break.  RMC's offense ran some innovative plays and they were successful.   Hence over 200 yards of offense.   Statesmen up next.

Hobart's rush D ranks #119
Randolph-Macon rush D was ranked #107
I'm sure there will be more of a steady Diet of Kmic in the thanksgiving feast next week with a bit of SHORT(s)-cake for dessert! ;D

usee

The clock starting after an out of bounds play is a rule change. Its been happening all season.

mtfan

thanks USEE, thought it was only a Div 1 change, just didn't notice it much this year here. But then the offense hasn't slowed down here much all season, so might be why  ;D

If that was the 107th best rush defense in D3, I'd hate to see anyone worse.  They wanted absolutely nothing to do with tackling Kmic.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Otterbein should be ashamed of themselves.  62 points to Franklin?  Yeesh. >:(

At least when Capital lost in Round 1 last year, it was without a QB or TB to Whitewater.
