Miami of Ohio and Bowling Green both open...Which is a better fit for Kehres....
I say Miami of Ohio,,,,,,
Time to leave the Raiders to Vince and go for it LK

Why VK to take over?  How about Siriani, Halllet or Paul?

LK already has his son as the Defensive Coordinator.   You don't think he's grooming him to take the reigns some day???

Small but Slow

Let's not be so quick to push LK out the door.  Miami of OH, and BG both have good recent tradition to build on, good academic reputations and environments conducive of competing quickly in the MAC.  I still don't know if that is as rewarding for LK as competing for the DIII brass ring every year.  At least at those two schools the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a train.

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

I don't think LK will leave until he decides to retire.  If he wanted to leave, he would have done it years ago when Kent State came calling.

Only LK knows who he will turn the reigns over to when he decides to step down.  I was just trying to throw some names out there who are from the LK coaching tree and who have HC experience.

I think Kmic's "three more games" is EXACTLY what he should be saying!  He has made it clear all year long that last year's loss in the Stagg was his fault.  He felt he wasn't ready/conditioned enough for that game.  Any Mount player feels that it's the Stagg, or bust.  If Cortland feels that is motivation.....pfffft...so be it.

Bring it....don't sing it!   ::)

Oh....and LK has always expressed concern on moving up to D-IA, and the players being able to "get" what the LK experience is all about.  I would imagine the STANFORD deal would be right up his alley.  Now we need all those lawyers/alumns from Stanford to start yelling louder for LK!   8)

I agree 100%.

And the talk about LK leaving for another job is just crazy.  If that was to happen, it would have done it long before this.  LK will be here until he decides to retire.   D1 athletes and boosters wouldn't mesh very well with LK's........ values  ;D

#1)  I would want my running back (Kmic) talking about "3 more games".....I like that attitude vs. the "coachspeak" of "one game at a time"

#2)  It would be shocking to see Kehres leave for either Mother Miami or Boring Green.  The Miami job paid Shane Montgomery about 140K, which was among the lowest in Div. I.  Miami won't be looking to put out much more, due to some recent university budget issues (building too many new buildings in anticipation of $$$ coming in).  I'm just guessing, but with his experience/success coupled with the AD gig, LK is in that range or more.  Plus, recruiting (time away from home/family) isn't nearly the issue that it would be at BG/Miami.  He's the "King of Div. III".....why go to the MAC??

I really wasn't intending on starting a conversation about LK leaving when I jokingly suggested him being Browns HC during my frustration watching the game Sunday.  I agree with the previous posters, I don't think he's going anywhere until he retires.  I can't see why he would want to go anywhere else.
They should have practiced harder.

One other thing... as far as the Kmic comments go, I think that he should say things like that.  Let's be honest.  Who cares if that goes on a bulletin board somewhere?  This is MOUNT UNION, the other team is already coming in looking to knock off the best team in the nation.  How much more motivation could be out there?  And, I think most people realize that Mount does come in with the attitude of expecting to win every week.  I give Nate credit for being honest and telling the truth instead of giving some rubbish about not thinking about the record or something like that.

skunks,

We need name tags at the Hood. I was their as well but did not have anyway of knowing who else was there. I did see "the sighting"  and met Mike Hallett as well.

Still the best deal going Burgers and beers ...Killians for $2.50/bottle?

I won't get a chance to see another game at Mount this year but will be around for that "third" game whenever it is played.

Congratulations to Nate...and if I am not mistaken he will pick up another record for single season rushing currently held by Justin Beaver. I am going to look that up. He nearly broke that one two years ago. Short by less than 100yds as I recall.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

FloridaRaider

Glad to be back in warm Florida after spending my holiday in Ohio. I was impressed with the raiders win on Saturday, and wish them luck in the weeks to come. One thing I noticed that could use improvement which I am sure will be addressed this week in practice was the MUC punt team. The longsnapper had 2 bad snaps in the first half that could have been a big momentum change for Hobart had the punts been blocked. Overall I had a good trip to Ohio and it was nice too see an efficient football team other than the Gators.

Congrats to Nate Kmick on breaking the DIII rushing record.  I remember thinking "this kid is a stud and he's going to do some special things before he graduates," when I first saw him in the 2005 Stagg Bowl.   The speed to outrun you and the strength to run over you.  He's got the full package.

Sounds a lot like Justin Beaver.

The last 3 Staggs had the best 2 RB's in all of D3 playing against the some of the best defenses in D3.  What more could you ask for in a title game?

Few of us get to do something we love for living. I'm sure Larry will be putting around in his purple golf cart till it's not fun anymore. I'm only a year older and I have no intentions of leaving coaching because I have some do-able goals I haven't achieved yet. That means I need to keep teaching which I still "like."

BTW I have to share my green golf cart with the band director
