Jamal is through the first round of cuts with the Panthers.  Former Florida State RB Nick Maddox was waived today.  That leaves 6 RB's on the current roster.

Arth did not play in this weekend's Colts/Broncos game.  He still appears to have the third string job for now however.

BenchwarmernowaluminIraq- Good to hear from ya.

JCU- In '99, they weren't the same team after that loss. I think Arth went 1-3 against ONU in his career.

RC- Good news for Jamal. Which arena league team is Vagedes playing for?

Mount- The Phantom Holding Call, The Fumble, and The Fourth Down Spot have made it easier to keep that 1 loss since '92 to another ohio school. Count your blessings

I can't find anything on Steve.  I have been wondering about him myself.  I know he played last year with Shane Franzer and the Ohio Valley Greyhounds.  He is not on their current roster but these arena rosters are not that dependable this time of year.

Shane got picked up by the Memphis Xplorers of AFL2.  That is a move up for him.

http://xplorersaf2.com/team/roster/?id=237  Shane's looking a little rough in that pic.

Cipra kicked last year for the Erie Freeze.  Looks like he is on the current roster as well with former MUC'er Josh Liddell.

Mount Fans

I see Zac Bruney is listed as a QB on the current Ohio Valley Greyhounds roster.

Zac played in some of the games last season. I think he is now also an assistant coach at MTU. Maybe the QB coach?

Jamal Robertson is a media darling in Charlotte.  Here is how the situation at RB looks:

Locks:
Deshaun Foster RB
Eric Shelton RB
Brad Hoover FB
Nick Goings FB
Stephen Davis RB

Bubble:
Rod Smart RB
Jamal Robertson RB

Out:
Nick Maddox

Stepehen Davis passed his physical which, I blieve, the Panthers were hoping he wouldn't do, because they still think he is a few weeks from football shape.  Had he failed they could have put him on some reserve list or something and had six weeks to figure out what they wanted to do at RB.

Generall teams keep five RBs, but the Panthers, due to the depth there, will likely keep six.  It comes down to Rod Smart and Robertson.

Right now Jamal is the better returner, but Rod Smart can contribute as a cover man on special teams.  It seems right now that Robertson is the media's favorite.

I remember listening to the 99 MUC-JCU game on the radio after our game at Cap.  I was in my girlfriends room getting ready to go out to dinner with her and her parents, but all four of us listened to the end as their son ahd played at JCU a few years earlier.

I also remember watching the film of the 2002 game as we were preparing for JCU.

Both seemed to be great games.

What were your takes on the Mount vs WJ scrimmage?

I watched the Panthers and the Browns last week, and thought Robertson played very well.  IMHO he deserves a spot on that team.

skunk neither of us were there but I  can share with you that there is a lot of excitement generated by this offensive unit.  Very experienced Oline, very fast WR & RB's, they just need one of the two QB's to perform, & they both have to this point.  Defensively there is a bit of a concern because they are a bit banged up, but they'll be fine.

As for the W&J scrimmage, it was clear Mount Union was the better team and W&J is going to be pretty good again this year.

I missed the '99 MTU v. JCU classic...but was fortunate enough to see the '01 game.  My legs went numb from the emotion and it was the first road contest for Mount after 9/11.  It was also the only Mount road game that my father ever attended.

4u,

That hurts.  Almost as much as the time I "fell in some bushes" after angering her.
