Congratulations to Mount Union and OAC.  ;D

reality check

Passing Danny Woodhead is looking more and more conceivable but how about this...

It is now also possible that Nate Kmic ends up with over 3000 yards rushing and receiving combined this season.  3000 yards!

And if you listen closely or put your ear to the ground in Alliance, you can hear a booming sound reverberate throughout the land.  It's growing louder and louder and the tremors are growing stronger and stronger....

With the conditions today, its amazing just how well Nate even made yardage, and honestly he was only a few shoestring grabs short of and easy 300 yard day! Cortland made some great defensive stops to the run, but the relentless pounding by Nate and some very nice clutch passes by Greg kept Cortland on their heals most the second half. Congrats to Cortland on a great season, and making a terrific stand in the first half, especially the quick drive out the gate in the first quarter and then right before half. I hope the Cortland QB is alright after what seemed he took a Brady Quinn shot on a hand to helmet smack, with this weather that had to be brutal.  HATS OFF as werll to the grounds crew making the mad dash for making the field stay as clear as possible under some very tough conditions!

Cortland had an excellent overall football team.   If their QB had time he could pick you apart.  Mt. brought pressure the second half plus stopping any running game the dragons may have had.   Good overall effort by Mt.s defense but they got burned on a couple of plays over the middle.   One long pass down the sidelines was because the Mt. defender slipped on the icy field.   This opened the game.   Weather was horrible with wind snow and ice.   Nice effort by Cortland.   Better QB than Bart had.   Cortland did not score in the second half.  Mt. adjustments on D seemed to work well.    Bring on the wheaties.

Nate Kmic rushes 45 times and gains 227 yards in a snowstorm against a very good Cortland team. Surprising but not entirely unexpected. However, Micheli passes for 242 yards in a snowy windstorm where you really only wanted to pass with the wind.....PRICELESS. Cortland did make the zone pass defense look silly. Wheaton will definately try to do the same next week.

Props to the refs for allowing the halftime to be extended for snow removal. No excuses for field conditions determining the game. Still, is that legal?

STO has one beautiful sideline reporter...she looked frozen...but hot at the same time. She needs to come back next week too! ;)

The STO sideline reporter is a current Mount Union student. She is a very nice girl and most likely wayyyy out of your age bracket  ;D. She actually used to date OL Jason Lewis and she might still be dating him I am not sure.

What a fun game to watch today. It was cooooooollllllld sitting there, but it was a blast at the same time. I sat close to some Delta natives who were keeping close tabs on Nate's stats and what not. They seemed pretty confident about him catching Woodhead, and after today I really can't see anything stopping him!

I just checked the d3sports.com "members list" - she is no longer registered.

On a different subject, Wheaton has been the underdog three straight weeks, with all games being in Indiana.  How about being good sports and moving MUC to Indiana for just one week? :D

CS played an excellent first half and that was all. The couple of plays CS did make was going to happen...they had a good team with a few kids who could make big plays. Mount's D totally shut them down after that. And what was important Mount kept the ball almost the entire 3rd quarter so as not to let CS take advantage of the wind.

All aboard the Nate Train!!!

An entertaining game today in Alliance.  Even the geriatric section got a little excited. :D

Time to chow down on some wheaties.

Hey Bushman -- you want to edit down that line so we can have our line-wrap back?
