Nate's quote from this article:

"It's something I've always done," he said. "If you half-ass (in practice), you play half-assed in the game. ... If you're slowing down at the end of practice, you've got to find a way to pick it up."

That quote reminds me of an argument that our defensive and offensive coordinators got into during practice at the end of my junior season.  We were terrible that year and it was 1's vs 1's in prep work for some team... anyways, our Offensive Coordinator got pissed at the defense going full speed and taking some of us offensive guys out.  DC responds, "OK, coach, .. we'll go half-assed for you."

I thought they were going to kill each other then and there.

Hilarious SaintsFAN! :D :) ;D  What a great true story!  +K for you.  Anyway, that quote and Kimic's as noted by praiderguy at the quotes of the week IMO!

Sorry I haven't been around much on here this year, its been a very busy time for me and once again a wonderfully exciting time!  For those interested, I've uploaded some audio files from our broadcast of the semifinal win over Wheaton, including Nate Kmic's record breaking run.  For all those I've seen this year along the way, and those I've met for the first time, it was great seeing you.  Hope to see everyone in Salem this weekend. Safe travels and GO RAIDERS!

The call of Kmic's record breaking carry should be required listening for any Mount fan.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

HScoach

And thanks for FINALLY letting the clips run long enough for me to a word in ;)

Can you guys believe Pat Coleman has the nerve to have his birthday on Stagg Saturday?!?  Who does he think he is???

Be sure to wish him a happy birthday if you see him in and around Salem and the stadium!!!

Thanks Ric, GREAT clips!  Now the California aunt can catch all of the excitement she missed when her three rugrats were pulling her away from her primary commitment: your podcast.

hey mount guys, safe travels on the way to salem.  i will see you guys on saturday, bright and early.  i have procured some fine Pa micro brew beer for you all to sample.  also got word that some of the stone station folks are going to hooters in roanoke friday evening, after 7, at least that is the plan for now.  i am not sure if i will make that time, but 9 or so should be good.

i expect a good game with both teams in the upper 20's to 30's.  i am picking uwww to win, but expect it to be a really exciting game.

see you all at the game, tailgate starting at 7 AM.

Small but Slow

Can't think of too many fine microbrews in the Tampa Bay area.  There are a couple of local breweries that make  concoctions that rival Old Milwaukee or Meister Brau.  We can stop in GA or the Carolinas and pick up a little white lightning for the tailgate!  Hope to be on the road by 4:00 A.M. and in Salem by 5:00 P.M. tomorrow.  Safe travels to all MUC and UWW followers!

Coach Kieth Wakefield of Mount Union College certainly has to be a top candidate for Assistant Coach of the year.  What a job he has done.   Everybody graduated.  The Raiders unfortunately suffered some injuries on the O-line,and even that his young men were able to overcome.  Not to mention the fact his cast supported two record setting performances in the backfield.  An altogether great job.  Thank you Coach Wakefield and are we glad you are on our side.

Article from onmilwaukee.com

Purple Knights vs. Warhawks

QuoteThe Purple Knights, who have appeared in 12 Stagg Bowl appearances in 23 seasons under Kehres, are a model of consistency.

I just read the article.
They've corrected it because it says Purple Raiders now.
That's one more advantage of online vs print.

Crap!

I'm not going to be able to make the short 3.5-hour trip to Salem as the Boy Scout troop needs another chaperone for a lock-in this weekend.  Sorry that I won't be able to meet more of the OAC boarders.

Ric & HScoach -- Real men DO ring cowbells!  But don't wear pink tutus.  Here's to a great call of the game, and no Pammie nominations.

70s - Nice recovery!  Now back away from the computer!   :D

Pat - Happy Birthday!  And thank you for this forum.

HURF - You CAN teach an old dog new tricks.  Quoting isn't just for the young.

Ric - Thanks for the site and good luck with the job.

66 - Miss you, poet emeritus.

HScoach - Nice job on the Pick-Ems.  And thanks for changing the format just as I was about to win for the first time!    :P

TheAProf - Take good care of that girl of yours.

Desert - Thank you for ... well ... just Thank You!

All Purple Fans -- Raiders, Knights, and Hawks -- travel safe.

Cheers!  Mom
