All this talk about people already leaving makes me wish I lived further away.  I don't get to leave until Saturday morning!

Finally, the week is settling down some and now I'm starting to get excited.  Nervous, but excited!!!

The alumni bus should be leaving from the campus center right about now.  The "red eye" bus will be leaving from the campus center tonight about 12:30.  Passengers should be reporting at midnight.  Safe travels to all.
Go Mount!!

My offical Mr Mom cow bell is already in my bag.

If you're still waiting to leave you might want to go to the Stagg Bowl site and print off the media stuff including rosters.

I still got a school day and a basketball game to take care of. Not sure I'm missing anything on the highway this morning.

AS OF THIS MORNING, Weather.com has taken the rain out of the forecast for Roanoke tomorrow.

Let's win a plum for the other thumb so like that old soldier, I can just fade away (thanks to General MacArthur) or at least till next August ;)

See some of Y'all in the morning.

And if your bored - go to the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year site and vote for Larry

QB Jeff Donovan on Mount Union:
QuoteThey steam-roll teams. I think we're the best team they're going to see all year. I think that has been the case the last three years. You can say what you want about their statistics; it's phenomenal what they do. But we're definitely a different breed. We'll see. They don't see a team like us until the championship game.

There we go, haven't heard that one for a while, and it usually is from a poster on the boards...
And a true statement no matter which side it comes from.  Safe travels to all and here's hoping for a well played, injury free game tomorrow for both teams!

Woke up this morning and felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve.  Heading north in T-minus 7 hours!  See everybody in Salem and safe travels to all.
They should have practiced harder.

Just got a great surprise from another coach here at the school I teach at.  Who would've thought that we would hire a former MUC player all the way down here in NC?  Anyway, he was on the team under Ken Wable in the 1970s and worked a little as an assistant after graduation.  He wanted me to wear Coach Wable's sideline coat from the 1977 season to the game on Saturday since he can't make it.  Coach Wable was apparently cleaning out his closet one day and gave it to him, so I'm busting it out for the game this weekend.  ;D ;D

I was waiting for a sign and that coat just might be it.  The only question is what Coach Wable's record was wearing that coat and what it's a sign of!  ???

I've just been informed that the jacket was given to its current owner after the 1982 season.  So if he wore it from 76-82 (which by the looks of it, he must've had more than one coat, this one is in great shape) the record would've been 35-26-1.  But, I'll just pretend that the coat was only worn in a few of those games and they were undefeated.  ;)

That's it then.  Wearing that coat, the final score will be:

Mount 35
WW    27  (I gave them tie pt.)

Go Raiders!  ;D

For those of you still in town, ESPN has a video of an interview with Nate Kmic on their website.

It's on the right hand side of the screen with the rest of the videos.

I've only got a few hours left before I head up to Virginia... who in the world schedules a high school basketball game on the day before Christmas break and on an early release day no less  ????  As soon as I finish coaching this game I'm hitting the road and leaving this 70 degree weather behind for the wind and cold of the north.  Can't wait to see the Raiders go for number 10!

Roll Raiders, roll!
