The OAC is 26-7 since the playoffs expanded.

ONU is 3-2 in the playoffs with its only losses coming to Mount.  ONU's three wins came against Hanover (56-14), WITT (56-24) and Millikin (47-21).

BW is 1-1 in the playoffs winning against Hanover (54-32) and losing to Wheaton (16-14).  BW accounts for the only second place team loss not to Mount Union.

JCU is 3-1 and was shipped east to beat Hobart (27-7), Muhlenberg (21-10), and Brockport State (16-10) before coming back to play Mount.

So Mount is 19-3 in the playoffs.  The second place OAC teams are 7-4 with 3 of the losses coming to another OAC school (MUC).  The second place OAC team's playoff winning percentage .633% is better than every other conference playoff record with the exception of the NWC and the MIAC.  That ain't too shabby.  The earliest an OAC 2nd place team has bowed out was the second round which has happened twice when BW lost to Wheaton and when ONU lost to Mount in 2000.

Sorry for the repeat but we were posting at the same time...

The same can be said about the ONU game in the other direction. It's a mute point.

Penn State was one second away from being undefeated in the Big Ten.  I agree with o-rook, mute point.

The word is "moot."

Sorry...  Perhaps I should have just remained "mute" on the matter.

Thanks for the correction :)
And for the students, another full drawer of clean undies!

RC:  Great post.  Too bad either Cap or ONU couldn't take care of business to be 9-1 becuase I think both would be about as likely as MUC to win a few games in the North Region this year.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

HS-- Does that me you believe we will go a game or 2 futher into the playoffs this year? ;D

Since it's never too early to start predicting the outcome of the playoffs, here's my take assuming Pat's prediction of the brackets are correct:

Wabash Bracket
1. Wabash (A)
2. UW-Whitewater (A)
3. Mount Union (A)
4. Augustana (A)
5. North Central (C)
6. Mt. St. Joseph (A)
7. Adrian/Albion (A)
8. Lakeland (A)
They will not rematch Augustana and North Central in the first round. Projected matchups: Lakeland at Wabash, MIAA winner at UW-Whitewater, North Central at Mount Union, Mt. St. Joseph at Augustana. ... Stiff price for North Central lining up in the neutral zone on the blocked field goal at Augie. ... UW-Whitewater was the No. 2 team in the West regional rankings. They wouldn't be put up higher than No. 2 in the North.

Assuming Pat's right, here's how the 1st round bracket would look, and my prediction of winners in bold:

#8 Lakeland at #1 Wabash
#6 Mt St Joe at #4 Augustana

#7 MIAA at #2 Whitewater
#5 North Central at #3 Mount Union

2nd Round would look like this:

#4 Augie at #1 Wabash
#3 MUC at #2 Whitewater - I can't predict a winner.  MUC is too inconsistent.  If I had to pick, I hedge toward Whitewater

North Regional Final would be:

#4 Augie at #2 Whitewater

My way too early Semi-Final predictions would be:

EAST at WEST
St John's Fisher at Linfield

NORTH at SOUTH
Augie at MHB

Stagg Bowl

Augie vs Linfield

Wow ... not sure I've ever seen anyone project results off my projected bracket. That's a little scary. :)

Just a note, while it's not likely to NOT happen, Mount Union has NOT clinched yet.

IF the two-way tie-breaker is head to head.  Which I understand it is....

Did I miss something?  Did Mount's bus break down or get lost?

Here are a list of things more likely to happen than the Berg upsetting Mt. and somehow not clinching the OAC bid:

1.   e_lee professing his deep love for Kaz
2.   Toph getting karma
3.   doeder getting married
4.   WOO scheduling MUC in a home and home for the next available year
5.   a CAP/ONU hugfest
6.   4u forgetting to sign off with his handle
7.   BW somehow finding a loophole to claim the streak is still alive
8.   Musky discovering that thing the other schools call "a forward pass"
9.   Busta 99 holding a diploma
10. Ric starting a new site....www.wilmingtonfootball.com

You get the idea...

Mount has clinched the OAC title simply by having Heidelberg on its schedule in Week 10 of OAC competition.

I'll have you know that I purchased the domain www.wilmingtonfootball.com.  Why?  Because when the Quakers turn it around, I'm selling that baby back for triple price.  I'm getting in on the ground floor of this one.
