TWO kickers??!!

Knowing what kickers do during practice (I was good friends with one -- still am)... they basically kicked some balls, drove the Thomas More golf cart around, found the candy/snack shed to be unlocked... etc...

At least these two will be able to hang out while they do all that..

North Canton Hoover High School Senior Jeff Meek to Play Football at Mount Union

(ALLIANCE, OH)—North Canton Hoover High School senior Jeff Meek has committed to attend Mount Union College and compete on the football team this Fall.

Meek, a 5-11, 190-pound placekicker, was an All-Ohio special mention and a two-time all-league, all-region and all-county selection for coach Don Hertler Jr. at North Canton Hoover High School.

Meek, who plans to study biology, is the son of Bob and Lise Meek of North Canton.

This is a mistake. Jeff is a DB.

Hi Dad Meek--welcome to the board.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Bump

Thanks for the welcome. LOL !!

Wonder if any of the other alleged kickers actually play other positions.  Is this a clever ploy by the MUC staff to distract the opposition?

Welcome to the board, Bump!

I wouldn't admit to being a kicker either.  Its just as bad as saying you went to Chaminade-Julienne High School -- embarrassing.

Sometimes the best athlete/player on a team is also a great kicker.  I don't know how all-league/county/state works in Ohio, but sometimes the all-league "kicker" is a great kicker, but also was the 2nd or 3rd best "position" player in the league, so the league throws him a bone and names him first team at a position that he might not have been the best at...

Bump:  Welcome aboard.  Make sure you stick around this fall.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Bump

Thanks for the welcome guys.  :)

Jonny Utah, I can't say one way or the other if some players are thrown a bone as an all league placekicker in Ohio. I can say with a pretty high degree of confidence that Jeff can't kick worth a hoot. He can drive a golf cart pretty well though.  ;D

Dr. Acula

Always nice to have new posters so welcome aboard Bump.  Jeff is an excellent DB from a good program.  And he also swings a mean stick so I'm sure the baseball team would welcome him with open arms if he was bored come springtime!

^^^^I bet there's a lot of other MUC coaches who would love to have some football players/athletes in their program--baseball, basketball, track, wrestling, etc.

Three more recruits but I'm unclear about their level of "stellarness":

Andrew Neiheisel has committed to attend Ohio Northern University this fall and major in nursing.  Andrew currently attends La Salle High School in Ohio.  He will play football for the Polar Bears.  During his senior season he recorded 60 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery, which lead to his selection to the Cincinnati All-Star Game.  Andrew is the son of Mark and Jodi Neiheisel.

Wenrich to Attend Ohio Northern University

Cody Wenrich has committed to attend Ohio Northern University this fall and major in mechanical engineering.  Cody currently attends Amherst Steele High School in Ohio.  He will play football for the Polar Bears.  Following his senior season, Cody was honored with All-County, All-District, All-State, and Defensive Player of the Year honors after recording 134 tackles.  Cody is the son of Craig Wenrich.

Kaup to Attend Ohio Northern University

Zachary Kaup has committed to attend Ohio Northern University this fall and major in business.  Zachary currently attends Coldwater High School in Ohio.  He will play football for the Polar Bears.  During his senior season he recorded 86 catches for 1,238 yards and 14 touchdowns, which lead to receiving All-League and All-District honors.  Zachary is the son of Jim and Sue Kaup.

All three sounds like quality kids.  I'm especially excited about Kaup and Wenrich.  ONU had a pretty talented kid playing WR come out of Coldwater about ten years ago: Steve Vagedes.  I wouldn't mind at all if history repeated itself.  Wenrich is a good get too and a good sized LB at 6'0", 215 lbs.  He was a Div. 1 All-State First-teamer as a senior.  Nieheisel is listed as 5'11", 205 lbs and played OLB in high school at LaSalle.

I know, I know.... but I have to watch because of WHO I know on it this year.  There's guaranteed to be someone punched before the season is over.  Guarantee.   He already mentioned something about someone "needing punched in the sack"...  and his lines are working on yet another girl -- 1st guy chosen.

I swore I'd never watch this BS -- and as soon as he's eliminated, I'm back to watching CSI and whatnot on Mondays.

Doesn't The Bachelorette qualify as "whatnot"??

its a lower-class "whatnot"....

you watch it if your lady/wife insists on it --- mainly bc they love anything that involves marriage.

the only other reason is if someone you know is on it -- takes a special breed of vanity to appear on there, in my opinoin.

I know I don't post a lot, but I do read quite a bit on here.  After seeing all these high school players committed to mount, it got me wondering: What high schools have sent the most players to mount who have been major contributors.  Are there any high schools who have sent multiple kids who ended up as all-americans or all-conference performers.  Just curious what you all think.
