Sure didn't help ONU last year, finishing 7-1.  I know, 28 teams!

Just reviewed D3's sample brackets. I don't pretend to have any expertise in how the selection process works but I don't understand the logic of the final 2 picks. I love the fact that D3 thinks Cap will get in, but I don't believe it.
The NCAA passing over a one loss team to put a 2 loss Cap in?--tough for me to swallow. And if they do put the one loss Cal Luth in rather than Cap what movement has to happen in the brackets? I guess we'll have those answers at 1:30.  Good Luck Cap or ONU

mtfan

WOW, the plot thickens! A projected match up of Mount/ W&J and a Cap bid too?  guess 1pm can't get here fast enough, but that would sure be nice to see!

HURFMUC

A possible match up of Mount/W&J both teams know each other.

HScoach

It's really hard to type a post with your fingers crossed ;D

I absolutely love Pat's predicted brackets.  Cap gets it's well deserved bid and W&J comes to Alliance?  Yippie!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

mtfan

if the projected North Bracket would play out , wouldnt a second round match up possibly have MOunt and Cap squaring again? always thot they would keep conference teams from playing until the regional finals.

HURFMUC

mtfan

they have to give #1 seed a easy game so there not out after they play one game.

mtfan

if they used the QOW index at all and see that Cap and Mt St. Joseph have a similar ranking, with pat's projected brackets then Cap could be seeded #6 to play #3 seed Augustana, and then have Wabash in a second round match up, and further avoid a conference match up until the final regional setting , provided Mount clears out the bottom bracket!

HScoach

Mt Fan:  No.  Unless I read the pairings backwards, Cap is in the Wabash half of the bracket, not he MUC half.

MUC's path the final 4 would probably look like:

Round 1:  W&J
Round 2:  Augie
Regional Final: winner of NCC/Capital game as I doubt Wabash is legit

Thanks hscoach I'm not the only one that feels Wabash is not legit.

mtfan

ok, maybe i was reading it wrong,
had the top bracket as
#1 vs #8
#3 vs #6
  lower bracket
#2 vs #7
#4 vs #5

We definitely see how good Wabash will hold up either way!

Sorry that I'm chiming in late on this, but job well done to BW, taking back the Gold Bowl and salvaging something from this season.  Carroll still had a good year, although ending with two losses in a row leaves a bad taste in everybody's mouth.

Off topic, when I heard that the Cap/Wilmington score was 17-10 at halftime, I was ready for bidding to explode.  Too bad Purple II erased any chance of that.

Raider1

According to the series records vs non conference opponents MUC and W&J haven't played in a regular game on the gridiron since 1941.I think it would be a rather good matchup since we scrimmage against them most every year.

Was looking at the OAC stats.  It's interesting how close Cap and ONU are in almost every category.  2 pretty even teams.

And by the way how about an ONU- Mount Union re-match in the play-offs?   Just a thought!

ONU played MUC in the second round in 2000.  I don't really think they do more than try to avoid first round match-ups.  I think if they believed the OAC to be much stronger than other conferences, they would distance the two teams more.  Such is not the case this year.
And for the students, another full drawer of clean undies!
