No Saints, I did not watch "The Bachelor".  I wouldn't even watch the show if they were so hard up for eligible bachelors that they asked you to make an appearance.

The girl that ran the control board in the studio for my football broadcasts at UNH went on to be one of the beauties from "Beauty and the Geek".  Now that's a quality show that I'm not afraid to admit following.  And this is a little different because we weren't friends of acquaintances but I ran into Paula from the Real World once in a mall in CT as well.  We talked for a few minutes there in the middle of the mall but she didn't jump my bones so I blew her off.

RC:  why no superlatives when listing the MUC recruits ???
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Wow, I didn't know Gindlesberger was also from the Falls.  He was an AA too.  Falls has to be the frontrunner.

For a school that graduates less than 75 kids a year, Mogadore can be proud of sending Chuck Moore and Johnny Josef. We've got a few more, but from before "the years".

In fairness to RC, it was the SID at Ohio Northern who referred to the incoming recruits as "stellar"....however, I would have thought that they would have come up with some other creative terms for subsequent listings:  wonderful, admirable, amazing, astonishing, brilliant, extraordinary, fabulous, fantastic, incredible, marvelous, phenomenal, sensational, stupendous, superb, terrific, tremendous, wondrous, etc......feel free to use as needed.

Interesting to note the location of many of the MUC recruits.  The Asst. Coaches have logged some miles in their efforts.  I hope all of these young men realize how wonderful Alliance is in January.  ;D

This one interests me.  May be the replacement for Micheli.  6-5, 220 lbs., seems more like a drop-back passer than a scrambler.

BTW Lake HS in Hartville/Uniontown/Lake Township has been supplying "stellar" ballplayers ever since they sent Perry Bourne back in my era.

Interesting note, I did some follow-up on this recruit and he was on LK's list coming out of high school. There was an article about him during his senior year and he mentioned Mount as one of the schools....along with ONU, (sorry about that RC) ;) that showed interest in having him toss the rock for them in the future.

As far as elligibility I would think he would still have three years minimum because of the drop in division he should not loose anything but I will defer to whomever knows this subject better. He is a big kid and supposed to have a strong arm. Doesn't sound like an option/running kind of QB but he said he was working on his footwork. AT 6'6" shouldn't have much trouble finding Cecil. and the bunch ;)

Sounds like a good class is getting better and Daryl Ely does prove that Ohio can be fun for a FLA guy in the fall. 8)

Blutarsky is right.  I didn't start the superlative war.  Until Lenny starts throwing around adjectives, you're out of luck.

As for the QB Piloto, that link provided by PurpleSuit talks about Piloto's interest in MUC and ONU among others.  The title of the article however worries me a bit.  He "shuns small schools to walk on elsewhere".  I hope for MUC's sake that he isn't planning on "lighting up D-III for a year" so he can get looked at by "some real football programs".  As for eligibility, he was never listed on the USF roster so he didn't ever log any minutes on the field.  From the fact he's not even on their 07-08 or 08-09 rosters, I'm thinking he might not have even made it beyond camp with the Bulls.  He's an interesting story to be sure.

Does anyone know if the OAC recruiting rules have been amended to allow coaches to recruit off-campus?  I know at least until just a year or so ago that OAC schools were not allowed to travel to recruit for athletics.  If that's the case, it makes it all the more impressive that schools like MUC, ONU and JCU can bring in so many kids from out-of-state.

I believe that they are now allowed to travel to recruit, but can not find anything definitive on it.

Two names pop out on that list:

Kevin Ringer - He's the nephew of my boy Javon Ringer, however Javon's prep career was much more prolific than Kevin's.

Aaron Manders - He comes from Toledo Cardinal Stritch, where he was coached at one point by former Polar Bear and Post Patterns poster Genius Gone Bad, who is now behind bars for the next 2.5 years for fraud and forgery.  Scary but true.

Genius Gone Bad??
QuoteA former Cardinal Stritch football coach is heading to prison. Andre Hampton, 28, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison this morning for stealing money from a boosters club account at the high school. Prosecutors say Hampton created the boosters club account without the knowledge of the school. Hampton also faces additional charges after allegedly making restitution with a forged check.
