Kirasdad can attest to the material in there.

I visit the LLPP purely for the entertainment value!

Edited to fix my quoting error...

I googled "Eureka College McKinzie Field" and came up with a website which stated that Reagan played on that field. According to another source that field was opened for football in 1913.

Frank I think you meant this post for the NCAC board.  At least that's where I saw discussion of Reagan and Eureka.

Small but Slow

I read several LLP pages last night.  Definitely cuturally enlightening.

Frank - Feel free to double check my facts.  I did the research over 20 years ago and may have "misremembered" my facts.  At least my memory failures are not about a substance allegedly injected into my body.

RC- well played.  Haha..I'm giggling like a middle schooler..

JK- I saw they won the semifinal game on a check swing where the catcher left home... I will try to listen tomorrow..

Glad you all enjoyed the Garcon cards. I'm trying to "work" my way through the first day of retirement. Trouble with doing nothing is "how do you know when your done?" or "if your doing it right?"

School system saw fit to cut loose the track coaches (me included) and my cross country job as well to make room for some new hires to have a supplementals. Said it before, I never was much of a teacher, but man the coaching job really hurts, that was a big part of my life. Just like all these moves, I feel bad for the kids that I was close to. It was a rough last day of school for them and me. Felt bad for my co-head coach who had all his arrangments made for the state track meet and they took back the check.

Oh well, time to finsh my deck, install the hot tub and wait for the day I turn 62 and can collect my retirement. I'm still proud of what we accomplished. On the bright side, cross country will no longer force me to miss most of the regular season Mount games.

Just went to McDonalds and ordered everything off the dollar menu, oh God, I am retired

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Welcome to the club, seventies! :)

Don't fear retirement, embrace it.  If I'd known it was this good I would have done it 30 years earlier! ;D

[Though it sounds like the coaching part was not your choice - sorry to hear that part of it. :(]

Hey Seventiesraider,,,welcome to the club of "retirees"  been one since 98,,and I still have to schedule time to fish,,because of so many other things to do,,I am sure if you look around the reorganized PCL you could find a school that would love to have you,,or you can join the bunch who come to every MUC practice in the fall. We don'y have track or CC here, or you could come to the Island and coach,,

also,,you should sit in the hot tub before going to your next project !!

I'm sure a local School around would welcome a VOLUNTEER coach like yourself with years of experience!  ;)

I'm pretty sure I'll keep busy this fall with Suburban Youth Football. Raider2019 (Kevin) has one year left before he plays eighth grade ball for Mogadore. Got an honorary (read free) coaching gig coming up with a large group gearing up for the Akron Marathon which should be fun as well as hanging out for the week Kevin is in LK football camp and the  week he goes to Kent State football camp and the three days of Ashland track camp.

Now if I could figure out how to sleep past 6:30........

It will (probably) come.  I'm only rarely up before 9.  On the other hand, my mom reports that my dad is getting up even earlier than before - and he's been retired for 25 years! :D

How do you sleep so late,,the sun hits here at 5:45 am,,and that is wake up time for me,,and I go till 11 at night,,,today was an easy day ,,up at 5:50,,coffee and the today show,, off to the market to buy clams at 8,,(workout)lift at 9:25,,HOME,,went to get blue crabs from my crab pots,,home ,,steamed 3 doz. crabs,,10 mile bike ride,,clean 3 doz crabs,,watched the belmont,,had dinner,, went to visit friends,,and home at 9:30,,,,

I am sure you will find ways to keep your days full also,,,  ,,and today was a slow day,,no team lifting,,or no beach time,,

The best part of retirement is that I don't wear a watch,,andin most cases I don't care what day it is !!!!

70's,,are you up yet ????????? ;D

Stayed up late watching "Facing the Giants", kind of a sappy religious football movie my wife got me.  It's all good, because sports movies always make me cry. Too bad there aern't more sappy Track and Field movies. "Fire on the Track" is great except that Prefountaine has to die at the end.

I forgot that this summer will include a lot of stuff surrounding USA Football at Fawcett Stadium. Keeping the 12 year old busy, should keep me busy as well.
