I was watching 'College Football Live' on ESPN today and they had LK on the phone.  This episode was the "Ohio" episode so part of the show was devoted to talking about college football in Ohio and obviously MUC came up.

If that's the case, then I would suspect that Wilimington probably did it out of courtesy and respect, which would be a nice and class act for that reason.

They actually had two days for Ohio, I believe.  I caught small parts of both episodes including yesterday's phone interview with LK.  Both days, they had fairly significant mentions of Mount Union considering it's really a DI show.

During the phone interview, the question about "moving up" a division was asked.  I heard it as a question about the team moving up, but LK answered it as a personal question, basically saying there's no reason for him (personally) to leave Mount Union for another division since he's having so much fun and success.

I just checked and there's not much from the two shows posted on ESPN yet, but there may be more to come soon.  It's just a brief conversation about the best player in the state's history, with Archie Griffin being named by one of anchors.  Still pretty good to be covered two days in a row on the big network, though.

I'll be waving at a few schools this coming week as my wife and I are making our annual loop through Ohio and New York to see family.  2000 miles with many many stops.

Can't believe I'm reading this in print... about a policy having to be made.  The title of the article is hilarious though..

^That's too funny.

If they're going to the trouble to officially require underwear, then they should have went further and made size limitations on the specific garments allowed.  Just because they make it in your size, doesn't mean you should wear it!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

The McDonald's "hot" coffee lawsuit marked only the beginning of legislating common sense and common decency. If I remember right, back in the dark ages when I was in high school, the only banned items were flip-flops, sleeveless t-shirts and (believe it or not) sweat shirts. If course, the issue then was we were wearing jeans so tight we had to jump off the bed to pull them up. You knew if we were wearing underwear. :D

I think it's funny that today's kids are "embarassed" to wear what we called gym shorts, in fact we send girls home for wearing them. (or "we" did)

Yep, it is just up the road (North) of Small but Slow and me.  They were joking about who was going to verify if people were wearing underwear or not.

I interested in the opinion of those that attended a D3 school and played athletics. What were the primary factors that influenced you to choose the school you attended?

Bump- for me, it was trusting a coach, who went to my HS.  He said, you are used to winning games... Come here and you'll win while receiving a great diploma.  I was sold.

The booster money didn't hurt either ;)

Thanks for the reply. I hope others will share their thoughts. There are some knowledgeable people on the board and they could provide some insight on selecting a school. I know this isn't football related but the forum seems to have died. Just trying to spur some discussion while we wait for football season to crank up.

I visited the campus in Alliance and was impressed with the architecture and feeling I got during my visit.  I liked the small school atmosphere and opportunity to continue to play football.  I wasn't sure about what I wanted to study (ended up Majoring in Business Administration) so a specific academic program wasn't as important as a factor and MUC being Liberal Arts Institution was advantageous to me.  I went to HS in IL, but the main reason I visited MUC at the time was that my mother's boyfriend was an alum.  I could have gone to Elmhurst or North Park in IL or St. Ambrose in IA but didn't like their campuses as much as MUC.

I played baseball, but I'll put in my 2 cents on choosing.  My decision was based on financial aid (MUC was the cheaper than JCU for me), campus (loved MUC's campus) and coaches (when I went to college we had two great assistants that sold me on coming).  I knew I wanted to major in finance/accounting so all of my choices were reputable.  Finally, my grandparents lived in Alliance and I liked the thought of my grandpa being able to come see me play right down the street since he couldn't drive.
