Jr. started conditioning today for the North Canton 8th grade.  Good numbers out, and Jr. said only four guys puked!  Jr. was very happy that he stayed active in camps all summer.

Skunk and I are planning on heading to Rochester.  We figure we will just buy tickets when we get there.  From what I gleaned from the Fisher and Empire 8 guys, the visitors side leaves a lot to be desired.  It could be one of those "standing in the end zone" games.

The only way I won't go is if Jr.'s first game is moved to Labor Day weekend so the kids can play in Fawcett Stadium.  They end up holding a "middle school" extravaganza on that Saturday.  Jr. opens with Massillon.  I told him to watch out for the 16 year old 8th graders!   ;D

Sounds like the professional orphans with full beards I played across from when we played Boys Town. No F'ing way they were 18.

Could it be any worse than Otterbein?

Or the visitors side at Whitewater (Reminded me of the convicts section in a Burt Reynolds movie)

FHSAA Rules state that once an 8th grader reaches 15 years, 9 months, they are ineligible for Middle School Sports.

Ah Men to that Whitewater deal. For the playoffs a couple of years ago St. Johns filled them plus some overflow. Last year for the playoffs they did not have a visitors side. Everone was in the home stands. I think I read on their page that new visitors stands were being worked on but I can't give specifics. I will let
Voice or Badgerwarhawk comment on that information. There board has been dead. ;)

Don't get HSCoach started on the Otterbein "pressbox".

The OHSAA had a similar age limit on middle school participation.  I lost my best 8th grade LB to the age limit one year.  He played one game on jv and started the rest of the year on varsity.

The Otterbein press box was luxurious compared the the one at the Tiffin (Columbian HS I believe Heidleberg played at) in the late 80's.  Went there to scout once and ended up sitting in the stands on a windy day.  Our scouting report was a mess because we missed a lot of plays and formations chasing papers that blew away.  We still managed to get our share of press box grub so it wasn't all bad.

As an 8th grader or a 9th grader?

If your starting to think about Sept 5th, East Rochester NY is approx 300 miles and around a 5 hour drive. 4:00 PM kickoff makes getting home Saturday problematic for some of us, actually it makes tailgating problematic for others 8)

Ten year old 2,500 seat stadium. unlike Whitewater you may want to call ahead for this one.

A small point of contention, SJFC is in Pittsford, NY, not East Rochester. From Alliance, it is probably closer to 4 and a half hours. The field is really nice. The Buffalo Bills are there now for training camp. It is also sunk in so i know other post said how it may be a sit in the endzone type of game, but it is a pretty nice view from there. The visitors side is what you expect from a visitors side. Standard metal, movable bleachers like you would find at high school fields. They have gotten close to 6,000 people there in the past for a rivalry game and most people have an inflated sense about their cardinal football, so they probably feel that this is a big rivalry. Wouldnt be surprised to see close to 6,000 there again.

Is there any way to get tickets prior to the game (mail, will call, etc.)??

While it sounds like there may not be any pre-sale tickets, somebody with a number at the athletic office should call, but it's still rather early :P
