Wow, is the Muskingum football webpage a snooze. Naming Coach Logan is listed under recent news. That was almost three years ago.

Oh good.  I was getting worried that Mount wouldn't have enough QB's in the mix this year.

I hear Jack Elway's available too.

I hear Brett Farve might be working out with his local high school. Maybe he has some eligibility left. He can chose to still play for the purple...except in Alliance he has a chance to win a title. ??? ???

And from the land of I need a life congratulations OAC on page 1500! Keep posting.

On another note I attended the St. John's kick-off luncheon today and got to hear John Gagilardi speak about their upcoming season. He was funny as usual and has tons of stories to relate about events that have occured during his 61 years of coaching. John is never short on wit. He likes to kid the monks about signing a lifetime contract when he arrived at St John's for $4500/year.

He says he would like to renegotiate!

Back then he was also the hockey and track coach. He got the hockey job because he had played it once.

He said he has three speaches when he talks...the one he prepares, the actual one he presents and the one he wished he had given when he is finished.

A rare chance to send time with a legend of the game. ;)

The worst part is knowing that all these new QB's are coming in from all over the United States and the rest of the OAC will still see Rocco go for 2400 yards 24 TD's and about 6 INT's on the regular season.  Slacker.

On a serious note, I would ask that you keep former Mount player Mike Ward, wife Denise and family in your thoughts and prayers.  Mike, who has coached around Columbiana County mostly at United Local and Lisbon , lost his 12 year old son Monday night.  Gavin, a 7th grader at United Local died from complications of an asthma attack following a junior high football workout. Mike was at the practice as a volunteer coach.

You young football coaches out there PLEASE pay attention to these kids that have what may appear to be insignificant medical issues and be aware how to respond to them. .  Two years ago, I read of a kid who had asthma and died on his way back to the locker room to get  his emergency inhaler.. Sad sad story.

Greetings, Raidernation.  I have been lurking for months but basically took the last 4 month off from posting but this post inspired me to sign in.  The main reason is that I have been dealing with some health problems during this time with one of my children.  My thoughts and prayers go out to this family.  I can't imagine the level of pain that they must be going through.  May it give them some small level of comfort to know that this information will serve as a reminder to all who deal with this illness to be ever vigilant.  My deepest condolences.

Rumor has it that a scholarship qb has transferred to www,,brother of a former MUC player,,do not know how accurate the info is,,any one else hear anything????

I read this awhile back about the Warhawks getting another transfer QB coming from a successful JuCo school in California.  I have no idea if he will be in camp this fall but if he is, between he and Blanchard, it appears Donovon may have a challenge on his hands to keep his starting spot.

As a preacher and teacher I know that feeling all too well.  Although, I'd add one other category...the one that was heard.  It's amazing and sometimes disappointing to have someone hear you say something completely different than what you meant.

News to me.  Where is Toph when you need him?

I haven't heard anything concrete from anyone.  My career gives me a few connections to high school coaches in the Cleveland area as well and I haven't heard any buzz from them.

That's not to say that I should be considered an authority by any stretch.

Sorry about the delay.

Did I miss any?  SaintsFAN needs a night out on the town tonight. . .  if not, then the problem will be solved when I go see Rascal Flatts/Darius Rucker tomorrow night.  Always lots of talent at country shows.

Wondering what cost cutting is going to do to the JV schedules this year. Already promised kids going to JCU and Muskingum that I'll come to some of their games. I may have to travel to see Muskingum JV's. Be nice if they broke into the traveling squad.

Summer is winding down, kids leaving for college camps as early as next Wednesday. HS practices starting to intensify.

Beenhit2hard: Mogadore youth to Ravenna to scrimmage in the hole by the railroad tracks tomorrow. Raider2017's gonna play some FB and OLB. Better get him a bucket of chicken tonight.

OAC preview next Tues at the HOF.

Interesting article acout MIAA schools

Playing catch-up with rest of Division III football teams just got harder for Hope, MIAA

Got a laugh or at least a few smiles out of this one:

Can't buy Swider argument that shear numbers is the Mount Union-WWW advantage

Not only can't I buy it, I can't find it. He doesn't say that at all.

Quote"I think the key to their success is their depth," Swider said. "It will take a deep and talented team to beat them in December. I believe the teams in our league are getting closer to that level of football."

I think Swider knows better than to blame a WIAC advantage on numbers, considering the WIAC limits its football teams to a 100-player roster.

"Depth" does not equal "size of roster."

Thanks so much, Kirasdad.  She is making great strides and is doing much better but it has taken a lot of my time and attention and been a real damper on the summer but when you hear about a tragedy like the one that happened to the Ward Family, it puts it all into perspective real fast!
