Who is that dude with Raiderguy?

Why isn't Raiderguy wearing purple?

Good thing there is a picture, it is a rare appearance in Scarlet (also a color that dominates my wardrobe) in honor of the event.....and to keep from being removed physically. Not really sure who that guy is but he kept bugging me to get a picture so being the gentleman I am I let the guy have his photo op. He wanted me to sign a football too, kept saying he has always been a Bears fan!  ??? (kind of an inside joke for those of you that know me):o

A great bunch of fans came to the kick-off to hear John and coaches give their scouting report for 2009. Might be a great idea for Alliance in the future.

Not to worry, there will be Plenty 'O Purple at all the Johnnie games again this season. I may be able to make some preseason practices in Alliance since I plan to be there the week of the 17th. I want to see some of the QB and RB battles. Should be interesting.

Thanks ROR for blowing my cover! ;D

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

now that the nfl preseason games have started, i have gotten thinking about the purple raiders beginning. has anyone from the past couple of years signed on with any nfl camps, indoor, or canandian teams? kmic or micheli?

reality check

I enjoyed what I hope is the first of many games for Javon Ringer in tonight's HOF game.  It seems like yesterday when I watched him play in the other OHSAA championship venue as a freshman in high school when he went for 251 yards and 4 TD's (Championship game records).

I also liked seeing AJ Trapasso get some love on that fake punt to start the scoring.  Good to see Ohio football getting some love all night long.

So ready for football season...
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)

MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Well, it look more and more like I am going to be back around for at least part of the football season.

With the Future Combat Systems (the program I am working on now) being restructured and some personal concerns (my wife is pregnant back in KY with future Crusader #2, still haven't had any luck selling the house, and my Grandfather in Mansfield was put into a nursing home), I have been looking around about a six state area (Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, Tennessee) for a job within my company.  My company has contracts with agencies in each of those states.

Tried Wright Patt AFB in Dayton- no luck, not an Air Force guy.  Tried the FBI in Clarksville, WV- no luck, looking for FBI or law enforcement backgrounds.  Only things in Tenn. were at the Navy Center outside Memphis- too far away.  Tried Defense Finance and Accounting Service (both Indy and Columbus)- no finance or computer background.  They think they have something for me at Ft. Knox, which is closest to home in KY, but the government hasn't funded it yet, so we don't know a start date.

So I went through with an interview with the team in Warren, MI at Army Tank and Automotive Command.  They are ramping up for a big job planning, building, and fielding the Mine Resistant/ Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP).  Cool system.  IF you haven't read about it, look it up.  It has reduced our casualties to IEDs and Rocket attacks in Iraq and AFG by a huge margin.  The government has already set aside funding for the project, and they are expected to ratify the contract by the end of the month.

So, they offered me a job.  Likely start date sometime around the last week of September, beginning of October (they understand Knox is better for me and are giving me time to see if that works out).  Not perfect, it's still a 5-6 hour drive to the wife and son in KY, but a lot closer than El Paso, TX.

It looks like "That State up North" is going to be my home.  I guess I will have to start following the MIAA  ;D

Hopefully my tasteful wardrobe of OSU gear will be welcomed (I threw out my F***  Michigan gear a long time ago).  Just gotta sell the house in KY now.  Going to have to be very careful that my kids don't take a liking to maize and blue. ;)

You could look for a place in Toledo and probably get a really good deal and not have to suffer that Maize haze that hangs over that state up north. Those poor people have not seen the sun in decades because of it and it has warped their brains.  ???

Do the Weasles still play football? ???

They also have not seen avictory over the Buckeyes in 2088 days and the count continues to grow. :D

JK:  Congrats on the up coming Crusader and good luck with the job search.  Hope both goes well.

If TM is healthy...he is the starting tailback.

Don't be surprised to see the "three-headed monster" at QB, especially early.

When we get closer, let's get a roll-call to see who is heading to Rochester.  I feel a really Stagg-like tailgate in the making with the late start time.  Skunk, Jr., and myself will be there.

This should be a fun year.....

Had a conversation with K C (message me and I will identify who this is-player, not a coach) about an hour ago--he is rooming with Cecil and told me that Cecil is more interested in the being the receiver rather than the QB--he also said that Morring is doing really well in the 7 on 7s and that the QB from Louisville and the QB from SFU (FSU?--I can't remember which school it is) look really solid.  He seemed to think that one of them will be the QB this fall.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Best case for MUC is not having to move Cecil back to QB.  Staying at WR would also help his chances of following Garcon to the league too.

That doesn't surprise me. Both come with high regard and for LK to still have a spot for the kid from FLA after two years speaks to his potential. Should be fun to watch plus there are a couple of other high profile recruits coming in to compete for the future. The two kids from PA both sound like they have some skills too.

Raiderguy-So given you set the standard by wearing red to ST Johns media day, if I want to get my picture with big Mike Hallet later this mornig do I have to wear red, orange and black. (Better head to Wally-Mart now). I may also have to jump up and down to get into the frame with him. :D

As long as the orange and black does not have anything that says "Bengals" on it I think you will do fine! ;D

My guess is they will probably have chairs around for those that are vertically challenged, which would be most of us when you consider Big Mike!

It's just sort of a tradition, if the Raiders are not playing and I am at a ST. John's event I try to support the second best team in the country by wearing SCARLET. ;)
