Chaminade-Julienne has been sporting a new logo and it just dawned on me that it looks a little too much like a certain school from Wisonsin...

CJ Warhawks Eagles

It could be worse, we could have a logo like this one: Mystery Logo

They should be kicked out of the GCL for that..

I wasn't reading the name of the website properly, and when I saw "www.badinfootball.com" I read it as a website about people that were "bad in football".

ugh, I need more coffee.

ALL:

I used the 2009 KickOff to base my picks for week 1.  It at least gives you a fighting chance for the first week for a minimal amount of money.  I suggest everyone support this website, which allows us to call one another "retards and morons" for our views.

But there's been a theory I caught wind of last year (talking to St. John's OC Jimmy Gagliardi last year it became really clear to me).

In Division III, there are elite programs who can compete every season. Most D3 coaches tell you its a numbers game; recruit a lot of kids, let the cream rise to the top. Then you have some teams who hit a special season once in a while, a lot of seniors and a good group equal a nice run one season.

But if you look at the last handful of D3 champions, they've each had one special player who was far and away the best guy on the field. MUC has had Chuck Moore, then Dan Pugh, then SJU had Blake Elliott and Linfield had Brett Elliott. Then Pierre Garcon, Nate Kmic and Micheli for Mount Union, and Justin Beaver for UW-W.

To win a Stagg, you probably need to catch lightning in a bottle to some degree. You've got to have an experienced group, preferably with the depth to withstand injuries, and then maybe those one (or three) special talents to put you over the top.

And I don't know enough about Ohio High School football to know if they're bad or not.

Or maybe Jimmy G. remembers a Rodney Chenos, the least likely football hero ever.

Hey 'Tard,

For your sake, I hope SaintsFAN isn't bringing the same "babe" he was hanging with in A-town last year.   So much for the theory that the QB always gets the hot chick.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Are there really games this weekend?  Man, this place is DEAD!

haha... 'Rosey' was HOT!  But I'm not talking about girls... I have an offer from someone I know up there who wants to have a few pops...

hscoach --- the boat has brought out a new crop this year... When I've been out, most people give me the look "I can't believe that fatazz pulled THAT arse"  Totally turned over my blackbook in the past 6 months.... an upgrade!

Craps reference:  I've been rolling 7's all year... Maybe the 'tard will be able to see some of the talent when he makes his way to Ohio this year...

PREDICTION:

if you didn't pick Thomas More... you're going to have at least one 'pickem' loss in week 1.  The Saints are LOADED at the skill positions and return 10 starters on defense.  Throw out the score from last years game... that Saints team didn't have the offense installed yet... (they put it in two weeks before the opener when they saw the athletes who showed up for camp).  It put the defense in bad positions and JCU capitalized on a short field quite a few times with throws over top of the free safety, who now isn't a starter.

The team really started hitting their stride in October.... I'm looking for them to do the same this year, but not be so chitty in the opener.
