Heidelberg stats are very interesting. They scored 42 points but had the ball less than 20 minutes. Lot's of big plays. Sounds like the fabled Mount/Auggie game :)
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

As stated on the main page, Shorts did not catch all three TD's from Rocco...Rocco threw one to TE and Seaman threw one to Cecil...(which seemed to hang in the air forever)

IMO Lemon is the back of the future...He has the burst, although Panchick and #34 looked  OK...Morring needs to find another position...(might pick up some quickness if he loses the locks, but that is my "old fart" opinion....haha)

THe Mount DE's were so good it is scary, and Lutz showed very well....goes without saying that Kershaw is a stud..

The Hail Mary was fun to watch...maybe we should rush more than two next time...the guy had 8 seconds to wind up and throw...  Our DB's misjudged the ball or ran into each other...still is fun to see those work once in a while..no damage done..

Raiderpa,

I agree wtih you that Lemmon is the back of the future. I think we will see him and Panchik (sp)and Harris the most this season. Stability in the running game has not been a problem for the Raiders for years and after ONU, we will see who gets the most snaps for the balance of the season.

With a heavy dose of seniors on the two deep roster, Coach Kehres looks to a more younger group that normal to get the experience.

How about the size of two tight ends, maybe a full house backfield on
short yardage situations (Woody would love it) !!!!!  Not likely however

The saying about having two    QB's means having no QB doesn't seem to apply to LK.  He has incredible success using two QB's utilizing each one's strengths to the best advantage of the team.  As long as plays and formations are mixed enough to make scouting tendencies difficult the system should work deep into the playoffs if necessary.  The RB situation will probably work itself out by playoff time.  The regular season has served as dress rehearsal before and using multiple backs keeps legs fresh come playoff time.  Overall very impressive stats at SJF.

Ahhhhh.....I see my Costanza "do the opposite" strategy worked quite will in the week #1 pickems.  Now if only I can fight the urge to think.   ;)

Worked pretty well for Michigan yesterday, too.  Tate Forcier looks to be the clear primary qb, but the other true-freshman qb, Denard Robinson, fumbled his first snap, turned the wrong way for the hand-off, so took off running and didn't stop 'til the end zone! :o ;D

If you are old enough,,you will remember that L K played in a two QB system when he was at Mount ;D

Living in Florida for the past several years has given a lifetime's worth of Tim Tebow and Chris Leak highlights vs. the Buckeyes in another notable dual qb system.  :-[

Great overall start for Mount with a lot of young talent getting in the mix. The big TE scenario will do wonders  for Seaman/Rocco in the controlled high % pass set up and likewise allow Shorts to cut loose. There were a number of times Cecil was left wide open :o and i mean that might be an understatement, he could have ate a packed lunch before coverage got to him! Having so many targets flooding the passing lanes is going to be overwhelming. The backfield situation will remedy itself in time, having the luxury of premium rushers to be able to jetison back and forth is really a blessing. Thinks its a bit to early to judge Morring when mostly at least early on, he was used in a single setback scenario. With him as a lead blocking back for either Lemmons, Harris or Panchik, it will keep defenses honest and not key on one in particular.
I don't think SJF to this point made much progress on the defensive side from where they were last year but too early to tell, however the offense and the backfield will give some E8 teams some fits even though the Raiders had their number most of the day. Beautiful campus, wonderful people, and great atmosphere at SJF, its no wonder the BUffalo Bills want to be part of it during preseason!
Porta pot man
you gotta have running water there somehow before game time! lol the hose method just wasn't cutting it!  YOu couldnt have washed your hands if you wanted too, lol, at least early on!

MUC player parents that join us to tailgate, it was truly a wonderful time chatting with you all. Getting your perspectives in what you and your sons go through makes it that much more enjoyable experience and glad you could join us. Can't wait to tailgate again soon!

We stopped post game at the Delmonico's steakhouse but was nearly a 40 minute wait, so we crossed over to Friday's next door since we were driving straight back! Hope we can catch up at a tailgate again soon!
