Never forget...

Can't believe today is the 8 year anniversary of what happened.  God bless all families and victims of 9/11 and God bless our servicemen out there protecting American interests at home and abroad.

I'll never forget learning at 6pm that day, through a phone call, that my brother had survived both towers collapsing.  I'm not much of a crier.... but there were definitely tears of joy after not knowing for the entire day because of a lack of cellphone coverage.

My sister-in-law and a large number of friends were at the Pentagon, my wife at another "agency".  When I saw the second plane hit (TV), I left a message on her phone to find the deepest friggin' hole and crawl into it.  Then the phone trunks all seized up with the flood of calls.  A live modem connection was all I had to keep family up-to-date until all were accounted for that afternoon.

Two days later I found out that I did lose a friend at the Pentagon; he wasn't working there ... he was on the plane.

Thanks, SaintsFAN

reality check

I was working a morning shift in the Admissions Building at ONU when we heard something upstairs on the radio but couldn't believe that we heard it right.  I ran downstairs from the offices to the admissions lobby to turn on the television set and watched the aftermath of tower one and remembered standing there in silence while the rest of the admissions dept. stared in disbelief.  About a minute after we turned the television on, we watched the second plane hit.  I don't know how long we stood there not saying anything but I eventually made my way back to my apartment and watched the television reports for the next twelve plus hours, only stopping to get gas because of the talk and fear over skyrocketing gas prices.  (I also recall that gas shot up the next day to $2.67 a gallon and thought that things could never get more expensive than that price...)

St John Fissher beat Buffalo State 55-7 today.

What are your predictions if MUC played Buffalo State?

The results for Week 2 and the spreads for Week 3 have been posted.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

The calculation would create a buffer overflow error.

reality check

Jamal's had two real nice games on short weeks as the Argo's played on Monday and again on Friday last week.  He was good for 63 yards and a TD on 9 carries Monday along with a KR for 24 yards and had a team-high 9 catches for 46 yards.  Friday he ran 18 times for 117 and 2 TD's along with 3 catches for 18 yards.

On the season he's averaging 5.6 YPC and is fifth in the CFL with 654 yards rushing and tied for second with 6 rushing TD's.  He's sixth in receptions with 46 for 405 yards (first among RB's).  He's got 8 more regular season games on the schedule but is having quite a season so far.  Last year he did well but he's already eclipsed his rushing totals and nearly doubled his receiving totals in 2009.

Linfield may be the team to have a strong season and  maybe challenge WW in the playoffs. Not sure about the strength of their schedule and conference for '09. WW does look strong after a 58-0 win.

HScoach,

Your spread was higher than I thought it might be, early indications are that the early picks agree with the +25.5 for the Raiders/Bears matchup.

After watching Tressel and Co piss away another great chance at a big victory last night, I'm once again reminded why I love the LK and the Raiders more than the Buckeyes.  Mount very rarely loses a game they can win.

I agree. I thought the OSU defense played a great game, but were on the fileld too long. Tressel and Pryor did not have a good game. OSU should have won if if were not for conservatism and inconsistancy on offense.

What it tell me is that LK is more skilled in knowing what to do and when to do it. Pryor passing and his techniques were marginal.

Doesn't always seem that one can be disappointed in OSU and the Browns,
yet know that Mount Union is the most consistant program anywhere!!!

Maybe there s/b a bowl level in D3, jeez. Buffalo State did beat Morrisville State last year.

For the people who complained about Garcon being a hot dog, what about Pryor. Very disappointed in OSU offense. Without Beanie, not so hot

Gonzales left the Colts game in the first quarter.  Garcon has 3 catches for 24 yards.

I see absolutely nothing from OSU QB that would even hint he could be a great QB or leader ....doesn't  seem to recognize defenses, makes poor choices, fundamentally weak,  throws a floater, and appears to get down, mope, and try to make plays that are not there......

Great have Division III guys playing in the NFL this year instead of clinging to roster spots
