we played there every year b4 we got the new stadium, and believe me, its not nearly as impressive with only 2,000 people there.  the pit aint the pit when there isn't 12,000 drunk westsiders cheering you on.  so your a jaguar eh, i was a blackhawk back in the glory days when we won the title every year.  lasalle is a good place to start off coaching that is if you can put up with grippa's crap.

Since it hasn't really mattered in many years past, is there a method to the NCAA madness in subsequent rounds. As Mount is the 2nd seed would that mean we'd be home next week despite who wins the Augustana/Lakeland game (Sorry, not trying to P--- off the MSJ folks, just trying to make plans based on reality) I have surgery scheduled for this coming Monday and I'm sure I can sell a trip to Alliance five days later but probably not Illinois or Wisconsin. ???

Sorry to hear that Cap isn't getting any press in Columbus but after all these years I'd think you'd be used to it. Cleveland paper still falls all over John Carrol and BW and sometimes gives Mount some ink. ( Although the ONU loss generated more than any National Championship)
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

capfan9,

That is correct.  No one deserves to get in the face.  Once again, I apologize for hitting Willis in the face.

Sorry for the inside joke.

ELee,
I'll be up there this weekend, but coming back early on Sunday to watch them Bengals beat the Colts. When Cap wins their first round game, Wheeler, Hawk, Doc and I are going to the second round game wherever it is. It's Michigan week, and I'm not missing the game to go to Chicago. Sorry buddy. Next time just stick to the jaeger bombs...those go down some much easier.

Angry,
From the few people I know over at Lasalle now, they seem to get along with Grippa. Coaching the 8th graders was fun though. We lost to Lourdes 14-8 and dropped a potential game tying touchdown in the endzone. Wide open tight end delay!!! And you're right, things just aren't the same without 12,000 drunk westsiders screaming. On a side note, you should hit up the new bar in cheviot...cheviot sports tavern...good food, beer and good looking bartenders.

Elee...were you running around like a caveman again hitting people?

Could anyone tell me how far it is to Wabash from Cincinnati? I heard it is closer than the other place and I'm hoping Cap wins and plays them in the second round.

Was it your "smugness" that was shared when ONU (gasp!!) took down the mighty Raiders during the season?  If so, I hope you, and they, keep it up.  MUC has been a program with unbelievable and admirable success for a long time--very dangerous though to bet all of your marbles on the past.  Past may be prologue, but games in D-III are played in the here and now.  I, with others, are looking forward to the playoffs.  No-one should be looking ahead--more than ever, it is now one game at a time.

I am going ot try to make it to a potential secodn round game, but we have a basketball game Saturday night, and being a first year basketball coach and in a new district I don't want to start shirking my responsibilities.  A Rd 2 game would happen during Thanksgiving break. I will have to be in touch with you guys about that, the only potential problem is that I have a wedding Saturday night in Ashtabula.  I wish it was someone I wasnt that close too. Oh well.

OK, I have decided that I am going to be the SMUG Bastard on the OAC Board this playoff run. If Wabash is lucky enough to make it out of the first round, they will be beaten by either Capital or Mount Union. If only because I don't want to hear "Hard Hat D" and "Wabash Always Fights" for more that one week!

Microsoft Street & Trips says it is 161.9 miles (2 hrs 29 min going the speed limit) from the Natti to Crawfordsville. Straight up US 74 and about 40 miles NE of Indy.
