As expected the only thing in question in the 2nd half in Alliance will be whether LK feels like covering HSCoach's spread.  Rocco to Shorts for the 3rd time makes it 35-0.  Good first half for Rocco, Seaman, Shorts, Panchik and the D.

Dr. Acula

Javorek had 197 yds and 3 TD's in the 1st half.  JCU up 23-13 just starting the 3rd in Tiffin.

No matter who carries it for BW it looks like they're not having trouble gaining yards.  Their 3 RB's have 278 yds and are ripping off over 7 ypc.  34-13 BW for now (they're deep in Pio territory).

Wow, WWW travels halfway across the country to play crappy teams. Are there no more crappy teams in the upper Midwest. There's a couple of JC's in Nebraska. Puget Sound?

What happened to Ric and Coach's broadcast?  Currently listening to the kiddies.

The local Federal League officals thought it might be too violent ;)

Ha!  Joe Eaton may have heard them say that the Fish were struggling and thought it may hurt Musky's feelings.

Congratulations to the Mount Union Purple Raiders for their victory this evening. Although I wasn't able to see the game, I have no doubt they played excellent football, were darn near perfectly coached, demonstrated unparalleled class, and provided all who attended a wonderful college football experience. Congratulations also to the players of Muskingum who undoubtedly played as hard as they could and got themselves a couple of touchdowns in the process. I'm sure it was a magical night in Alliance as the machine rolls on. In the meantime Muskingum undoubtedly improved measurably simply by playing against such outstanding execution and should benefit when they host Ohio Northern next weekend as long as they didn't suffer too many injuries from the hard hitting of the Purple Raiders.

Jeez, Buffalo State beat up on West Conn. Anybody know online where there is one of those stupid so and so beat this team who beat that team who beat some else things, that tries to prove that like a Buffalo State would beat the Gators. They were a big deal a couple of years back. Kinda bored tonight

Another bright new freshman db for the Raiders made an impressive first appearance tonight. Nick (is it Driscoll?), #41 from Indiana.  We sat next to his Dad who was understandably proud and hopeful that the kid would see some playing time.  He started on special teams.  If you were at the game you might remember #41 flying in from nowhere and canceling a Muskie kick-off return attempt with flair in the second half.  Watch for him.  From a small school in IN, IU discovered him late and offered him a walk-on spot, but he had already been to Raiderland.  How you gonna keep them  Hoosiers once they've seen Alliance, Ohio?

bleedpurple,

I agree and I was at the game tonight, My take:

1. Of the many Mount teams, this year's defense is by far one of the
fastest I have seen. Their reaction time is outstanding and will serve
    them well  going forward.

2. The QB play was very good, Rocco was able to find his receivers deep,
and Seaman was able to move the chains, although most of his passes
were quick outs. I would like to see what he can do on deep routes.

3. The running backs all looked good and quick. Coach Kehres will not have
too worry  this year or 2010.

4. Even though the "D" gave up 14 points, it was great to have the 2nd
and maybe some 3rd get good playing time.

5. B-W will be much better, but the Raiders did improve from the ONU game
in many areas. I think next week will show alot of balance from the
    Raiders.

Exactly Kehresma,

It's impossible to imagine any football program in any Division that would be able to compete against a visit to Alliance. The Norman Rockwell-like setting, the incredible football program, and the humble fans would be an irresistible magnet for any athlete.  It's actually amazing Indiana even has any colleges or universities being located so close to Alliance. One has to feel sorry for them.

How did I know?

Thank you so much for your fine assessment of the ballgame  and the Raiders.  I'm glad Coach K won't have to worry for the next two seasons. He shouldn't have to go through the anxious moments other coaches have to face. It just wouldn't be Mount-like.

Results for Week 4 have been posted.

Spreads for Week 5 will be up sometime tomorrow.
