I watched the TV replay last night and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with T. Morring's performance.  He ran the ball well, made a great one handed catch and made several key blocks on Panchik runs.  Good for Morring.  If he can be consistently productive like last night that will be a big help for the offense in the future.

p.s. I didn't know if I would, but I think I kinda liked the black on black unis too.

I agree Morrings's performance was the best I seen. After seeing
the black over black uniforms, I do not think they look too bad. ;D

This coming week will be a good one, but I think that Mount's D
will be a huge factor at only 8.5 points per game. Need to shore up
the special teams.

My immediate thoughts on the game - I am still concerned about Rocco. I can't say he did this or that - he just doesn't seem to have adjusted/improved much since game 1. 1st half was a little painful to watch. I am used to seeing Mount dominate a game - but this one was different. Mount did not so much dominate (I know the stats say otherwise) as BW made mistakes that Mount capitalized on. I mean the 2 interceptions by Mount were key. Special teams really needs help - and fast. A good team like a UWW will make Mount pay on special teams (they have done it before).
On the uniforms - well I did not like them. EMBRACE THE PURPLE! I think the black uni's were one of the reasons Mount struggled early - the football gods weren't sure if they liked them either ;D. But in the end the gods decided they are only uniforms and if Oregon can win with 1 of a billion ugly combinations then Mount should not be stopped because of the allblacks (I hope I don't have to pay the New Zealand rugby team a fee for that reference).
Ditto on Oregon's uniforms.  You haven't seen ugly uniforms until you see Oregon's unis.  Someone at Nike designs them.  Last week against Cal they wore "retro" unis that looked really good (if you ever could like green and yellow).  I wish they'd stick to retro's or do what Iowa does and copy the pro team that match their colors.  Oregon should copy Green Bay's unis like Iowa copies the Steelers.

Anyone heard the status on Mount's center?

desertraider,

Your point on special teams and my concern as well.  B-W had short
kicks to cover with open lanes. Our kickers need to get the  ball deeper. I thought Mount recruited several kickers. We need them now.

I like the white over purple uniforms best!

Looking at Capital' s stats, they are pretty balanced with a good running
game. It will be interesting.

I read that Mount Union College/University will add engineering in the fall of 2010, the implication being that this was one of the factors behind the name change.  Being from NE Ohio, I can only guess what might have been if, in the late 1970s, there had been a Mount Union University with engineering available as an option for me, instead of my going elsewhere to study in that area.  Would have been good now to say I went there.

It's still near my hometown, so GO RAIDERS !!!

Same for me too.  I ended up at Akron U because MUC didn't have an engineering program.

Only real football playing + engineering option for me was ONU.  But I grew up in a town of barely a 100 people (Paris, OH) and didn't want to go to college in one too.

When I got married I told my wife I was going to take her to Paris....There was even a tower in our back yard...alas it was the same Paris, Ohio and the tower was for radio and cell phones. I lived on Lisbon Street for 10 years.  We were neighbors! ;D
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Rocco should be careful as Seaman is gaining on him. Rocco throws a good ball but so does Seaman and Seaman can run.

Didn't like the black on black.

Morring is just getting started.

Thanks again to the D!!

Maybe the name of the school should be Mount Union College University of MUC U for short
;D

The black uni's were not as good as I expected but for a change, ok.

Special thanks to Lenny for my own personal tour  of the MAAC even though he had his hands full. Mount now has athletic facilties equal to the rest of the OAC. Great wrestling room, extra gym for intramurals, tons of exercise equipment, excellant training room and a month alway from a better indoor track.

From those of us who remember the "weight room" (and the moose head) in Memorial Hall, it's great
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Mt's defense most impressive.  Bw defense impressive as well.   A well fought game from both schools.  Rocco was pressured tonight a lot.  He must of learned that a. he can not scramble  b. look to more than one  receiver during the game c. do not through into  triple coverage.  Seaman seems more steady and plays within himself.  Give him more PT.

It's an well-deserved honor for Seaman to be rotating in as much as he has.  I think he'll keep improving as he learns the system but I'm not sure more playing time for him at present is a good solution for our offensive passing game struggles.  BW's defense did a good job, but there is more than that behind our lagging O. As much as I'd miss Cecil's exhilarating end zone highlights, I'd LOVE to see him work in a little more at QB on days when Kurt isn't firing on all cylinders. He knows the routes inside and out and can intuitively find our receivers.  A Junior High opinion, to be sure, but I'm willing to learn, and I am SURE grateful for the discussion of OAC GAMES and Teams on this forum once again. :-*

I don't see the reason to play Cecil at QB until they really need it.  We all know Cecil is still taking some reps there, but why show your hand until forced to?  I doubt anyone in the OAC is strong enough defensively to require Cecil to throw the ball to score.  Come playoff time, I expect to see Shorts slinging it.
