Kma    If Cecil was an option as our QB, I would think LK would have him playing as you suggest when kurt is not firing on all cylinders.  It does not appear  that is going to happen soon.  The only other QB I've seen is young Mr. Seamen.  As the backup QB he is not going to evolve sitting on the bench.  When the playoffs arrive, and kurt isn't firing on all cylinders who gets the nod?  The more PT seamen has the better his chances are of caring the load.  If Cecil is the best QB of the three, I would like to see what he can do in that capacity. so far I have only seen him take one snap and he ran off the right side for a TD.  As of present, Kurt is the man.  Cecil can only do so much.  Give Seamen more PT.  Your O  will evolve with him.  What is the lag in our offense that you alluded to?

RC, I've never been to Wisconsin but I spend a lot of time in Alliance watching the Raiders.

Maybe he's Barberton HS!

I read that Mount Union College/University will add engineering in the fall of 2010, the implication being that this was one of the factors behind the name change.  Being from NE Ohio, I can only guess what might have been if, in the late 1970s, there had been a Mount Union University with engineering available as an option for me, instead of my going elsewhere to study in that area.  Would have been good now to say I went there.

It's still near my hometown, so GO RAIDERS !!!

Same for me too.  I ended up at Akron U because MUC didn't have an engineering program.

Only real football playing + engineering option for me was ONU.  But I grew up in a town of barely a 100 people (Paris, OH) and didn't want to go to college in one too.

When I got married I told my wife I was going to take her to Paris....There was even a tower in our back yard...alas it was the same Paris, Ohio and the tower was for radio and cell phones. I lived on Lisbon Street for 10 years.  We were neighbors! ;D
Did you go to the Paris Inn? ;D

Oregon should copy Green Bay's unis like Iowa copies the Steelers.

As a Packer fan since birth and minority owner (I hold 2 shares of Packer stock), I resent the suggestion, runyr!!  ;)  Some things are just too sacred.

Every football fan in NE Ohio should praise GB ... because they are publicly owned, they are the ONLY NFL team that can't be moved in the middle of the night!

Reviewing this new "revelation" of becoming a University, my biggest concern is someone starts thinking it will be cute to be called U of M. Bleeeeeck. >:( Chunks and more chunks >:( :'(
No self respecting Buckeye will stand for that. :P

but THE University of Mount Union has a nice ring to it. Because we would be the only Mount Union in THE state of Ohio and it would have nothing to do with being arrogant. ;)

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

my take on the whole Rocco vs Seaman deal:
Rocco has the physical tools needed to be a great QB, but he continues to be too hesistant in the pocket.  There were two passes to Shorts that should have been TD's this Sat, but ended up in a 53 yard pass and a PI call.  Although both passes ended with good results, if Rocco would just have let it fly deep Shorts had an easy TD each time.  I'd almost rather see Rocco overthrow Shorts for an incompletion than underthrow and have Cecil make a great adjustment for the catch right now. I do agree that Seaman has made much better strides since game one, but that is to be expected as he is a freshman.  I think that Mount can win with either QB, mainly because of the defense.

The biggest issue that I see with the Raiders, as of now, is the jeckel and hyde nature of the offense.  Mount can beat any of the OAC opponents this way b/c of the defense, but the playoffs are a different deal.  The offense can not come out flat the way they have the pass three games in the first quarter and win in December.  Mount's defense is sick, but a good team like UWW might be able to get up early if the MUC offense continues to putter around in the 1Q/1H.  The mixing of QB's probably plays a part into this, but regardless it needs to change.  I trust LK to fix this up though.

Interesting and telling stat from today's MUC/BW article in the Alliance Review:

The Yellow Jackets (1-3, 1-2) were shutout for the third time in their last five trips to Mount Union Stadium. In fact, Baldwin-Wallace has not scored a touchdown this decade in Alliance and have just six points on the Purple Raiders' field since 1999.

Yikes.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

ONU beat North Central (currently ranked 14) and lost to #13 Otterbein by 2 Points, and to MUC.  Shows that D3 Pollsters actually put some thought into their rankings.  Capital is 4-0, but have not beaten any ranked teams.
